Any worry of paint damage underneath from friction/rubbing against the rubber gasket? That's my only concern I suppose.

How was the installation? My new wheels make me want flares now just because it pokes past the fender just enough now that I'd want the extra coverage.

Try adding a small lock washer on the outside and worst case, a new nylon lock nut. Both together should prevent what the tab is designed to do.

I went ahead and just order the 17x8.5" 0 offset wheels. Pre-ordered so they will arrive probably end of this month. Hopefully sooner.

Fitment looks good though. Not sticking out too far visually. But you, living on a dirt road, will notice the small things that bug you being at that offset.
