no I went out this weekend and locked my fob in the Back under my cover. doors locked fine and opened with the key pad. Only issue was after I removed my fishing gear and got in the truck, the key fob was still in the back. LOL had it get out from under the fishing gear to drive off. ;)
Mine OEM did not have end caps either, I used silicone. Just put some where the end caps go, cover with wax paper. Shut the tail gate and cover and let dry, then remove wax paper. The reason for the wax paper is so that u do not glue the pieces together. Easy to do and you can get clear, or...
If you do not like the key pad there is a thread about removing it and moving it.. It is stuck on with tape

Leave your foot on the break, put it in park, turn off then remove foot from break, that should solve the parking issue. I have not noticed mine turning off when I go in reverse, maybe I do not come to a full stop, I will have to pay more attention;)
I would no worries about that !! The one working on your truck never wee that stuff.... it would be just like taking something back to a big box store . . . no one really cares what you brought something back :)
I disagree with the fit and finish, check it yes and everything else, I ordered mine in Jan built mid April, started driving May 4. No issues! None, accept tire inflation and washer fluid. I am closing in on 6k miles. Love my truck. Unless I look I cannot tell it shifts. My only small issue...
