My dealer called me 10 days ago and asked me to verify my color. Afterwards he said he would let me know when the VIN was released. Haven't heard back so called Ford today and the VIN has been released. They went ahead and sent me an email with the information.
So to update, the last 5 of my...
Thos guys are ok in small doses. . not 25 straight minutes worth though.
almost 21 overall mpg is great for what they were doing.
And, think about the pieces these guys do.. they wouldn't want to shoot their best mpg wad until they can do a GM twins, Tacoma, Ranger shootout.
I went through the same gyration but without the spreadsheet. I was able to eliminate all of the other brands for various reasons then it came down to an XLT or Lariat. The XLT I configured was only <1k less than the Lariat I configured and I couldn't get the exterior options I wanted without...
Like you, I really wanted to like the Tacoma. I have wanted one for years. I went and sat in one and very quickly my back hurt. I'm 6'3" 195 and the seating position just doesn't work. Many people find them comfortable, some tolerate it, but others just get rid of it due to the uncomfortable...
I was talking to a board member here about just that. Toyotas have some really good looking flat colors and I especially like that clay or concrete color.

no turbo-lag to noticeable turbo lag
quality plastic to vast swaths of cheap plastic
cheap and uncomfortable cloth seats to mind-blowingly comfortable leather (can there really be *that* much difference
blah blah blah
Pretty much done reading reviews. There isn't any more news I really care to...
non-existent? For what it is, it is very spacious. For our needs that space is going to be perfect. My 5' wife can jump back there if needed and be totally comfortable for the short trips we would be making. 6' foot bed makes more sense for us. For folks that need to transport more than 2...
Absolutely and that is really my expectation. *need* above was actually the wrong word...Able to actually take delivery and drive it is more accurate :-)
Well, well. Just got a welcome email from the salesperson this morning. He forwarded me the email from Ford letting me know the order has been approved. Great news!
I went through the same decision making process and chose the supercab. Extra foot of bed length *for me* trumps being able to very very infrequently carrying 3 to 4 adults. But. I'm married and we have a second car (SUV) that can handle those duties. Not concerned about resale, but that's me...
Just went by the dealer (because the salesman blew off my email) and once I could actually get the salesman to focus on what I was saying and the copy of the email (from the first post) that I had in my hand, he went into the manager and said they submitted all of the paperwork and was waiting...
Had FCA decided to build an extended/super cab Gladiator with a 6' bed as well, I'd have a decision to make (to wait and compare or just move forward). As it is, FCA made my choice very easy. I do need a truck sooner rather than later, so I probably would have gone with the Ranger regardless.
There are a few places on that picture to click and they all bring up different links. For new folks, be sure to click on the "Get Your $750 Bonus Cash" that directs you to the correct link. @Strokerduster posted the actual link and that also works for me. I didn't have to use incognito mode...
The problem with the seating position in the Toyota, for me anyway, was the low seating position that kept my knees up while putting pressure on my tail bone. No way to raise the seat and even if you could there wasn't much headroom so doing a seat mod by raising the seat might not have worked...
Interesting. I wonder if it is hearing engine noise or hearing the *right* engine noises. i.e. trying to mask the 4 cyl/turbo sounds. I've had all manner of 4,6,and 8 cylinder gas/diesel cars over the years. Currently, the bar is set about as low as it can go with our Nissan Rogue S (4 cyl...
Was watching the TFL early impression and at around 6:36 you can hear a deep growling sound and the guy comments on it saying it is probably a fake sound which is then verified by the Ford guy in the truck.
Is that on all trim levels or just some with certain audio options? If It is on mine...
