The last time I swerved for a cat I was driving a 4 door 1966 Cadillac, I missed it with the front but the rear broke loose and the cat went under the sliding tire of a 6,000 lb car. Lesson learned.
I kinda feel the same but can't seem to find a brand without issues at least as bad.
Rebuilding or a restomod of a pre-computer vehicle is more attractive every day.
Dealers charge book or more. Never less.
The mechanics get paid by book time. If they are faster they potentially make more $.
At least that was the way it was for my stepson who was one of the highest earners at the dealership he worked for.
Like your post? Or this one?
I don't like the paint either BUT I don't have to! Not my truck!
Sorry to see bbenea go but happy he got the truck he needed/wanted.
You ever changed an oil pan?
Rare vehicle where you don't have to undo a lot just to get to the point the pan can be removed. Then you R&R the pan. Then you un-do all that had to be done to get there. Adds up.
$275 When the MSRP is $266.67 for the pan?
Many Overseas makers assemble in the US to beat that and are not unionized.
The rapidly rising cost of US UAW assembled cars and trucks with the even higher cost of massive wage increases (passed on to the consumer), might make imports from PRC profitable in spite of the tariff. Hell, it might...
I am just looking forward to the Chinese brands making big inroads to the North American market.
They have been looking for the chance and this could be it.
Edit: gotta remember to add 'sarcasm' at the end
