I’m towing a 28.8’ Salem Cruise lite 6850 lbs loaded, 700 lb tounge wt with. Hensley Weight Dist/Sway control hitch. Changed the stock Jaunce bumpers for Temborlin to stop the porpusing and tows like a dream coming down from Oregon
Thanks Phil, we are out on the road until early August. When I return home i will contact LevitTown for ordering their harness. Glad I am on this forum, I suspected the dealer was not in the know after reading the many posts about the Ford controller
Phil unrelated topic springs I have a question for a Ranger engineering person.
I had the Ford Trailer Brake installed 4 months ago and I figured out it was not working. Took it back in twice and was told it was wired properly on install but they would check with Ford to see what the factory...
I had a 4 pin at the back of the truck, I bought a 4 to 7 from etrailer and ran a 30 amp fused line to the black on the new pigtail. There is still a blue and a yellow wire to the 7 pin that has nothing connected to it.
I’m towing a 28.8’ Salem Cruise Lite and the Hensley makes this a dream in all conditions we have been in the last 1.5 years. Have 14,600 miles of which 90% is towing this RV. Went from 4point Equalizer to the Hensley after 4 months, best money I’ve spent!
Being as I do not want to change the ride when not towing has anyone out there put air bags on the rear and Can report on how it worked when towing. Again I do not need any lift because both front and rear stand at good heights when towing, just want to eliminate the porposing effect when on...
I have a question and not sure which way to go. I have a 2019 XLT rear wheel drive with 18" wheels. I am not really looking at leveling or raising anything as I use mine specifically for towing my 28' Salem Cruise Lite. What I have noticed is on roads with whoop d do's that my suspension feels...
I have a Hensley and feel to tow this much weight with this truck this or the Pro ride is the only way to go.
when I first bought the trailer I had a 4 Way equalizer and felt too much sway. The Hensley eliminates it completely. I was in 50 mph head and cross winds on a two lane road, yes when a...
for the step issue here is another solution, I haven't bought it yet but am considering.

Much better that when it shuts off you get to smell the exhaust fumes of whoever is in front of you! Poor design as far as I’m concerned. This is about my only beef with my ranger.
Ranger took Cajon Pass from San Bernardino to Victorville at 55 and no strain on engine with all the gears this trans has, next was 14 mile pull up hiway 178 from Ridgecrest elevation of 2200 ft to 6000 ft and the engine worked but again the trans kept downshifting and took at 50 mph in 4th gear...
GCWR of my set up is 11,720. Most of my trips so far have not had long hard pulls. We leave on a trip tomorrow that will give it a much better test going over the Grape vine in CA on I-5.
Ill reply again after this trip
I get between 11-13 mpg depending on how much wind or hills on the trip.
I did install the Hensley myself, their directions are very straight forward.
Much easier hook up for a trip, no chains or bars to deal with. Just back into the receiver, clamp it in and cinch the two torsion bars with a...
