all my numbers are pen and paper and filling the tank. i posted some photos of the computer mileage climbing on one trip to show what is possible.. 28.1 mpg on the computer will probably drop to about 27 with pen and paper after the fill-up.
your right about the variations. and the biggest...
exactly. my roads here in bumfuck are 55 to 60 with no traffic or lights. here's some photos i took today of the ever increasing mileage on the trip back from the NH liquor outlets. Note that there are almost 90 miles on this tank so the actual mileage needed to raise the average must be well...
the brochure shows a foam engine cover on the engine graphic. it does not say there (usually with some kind of asterisk or other symbol that refers the reader to the fine print) that certain items pictured are available only on some trims or with certain option packages.
furthermore, in the...
even if ford had provided me with the 6 tie downs that they advertised (i.e. fraud) they are all in the wrong places. nothing wrong with having them near the floor at the corners but there should be a set at the top of the corners.
i like the ranger much more than the 2002 and 2013 tacomas...
sorry, after all that i forgot to attach my files. here's pages from the 2019 brochure. i don't have any product changes for the 19 ranger (and neither does ford it seems).
i've got an open mind. some of these responses are saying i'd get an additional 2 mpg by upping the octane. like i said before i'm averaging 27 mpg so i'm going to try it. that would give me 29 mpg and over 30 on the 55 mph roads up here in elk snout, maine.
but the responses are also saying...
excellent documentation, thanks! my vehicle is a 2019 stx and when i called them and started "case" # CAS-26737316-C4V3Z3 they could not find your product changes documentation. i sent them the attached brochure pages. they told me to see the dealer (I already had) and finally said i have no...
thanks for the update. i'll admit that when i get on the truck a tiny bit it feels slightly hesitant but that goes away if i really stomp on it. on the other end it is remarkably smooth and competent driving like the 60 year old hybrid loving apolitical person i am.
so the big question is...
That owner's manual clearly says minimum 87 octane is required. ford telling you what you could use a few lines later is like saying they require 5w30 sn+ but they recommend ford oil part #blah blah.
that said, i'm always willing to learn so could you tell me if there was a measurable...
real in-town stop and go driving will kill the mileage. although the new ranger has the engine-off golf cart feature it is not as aggressive as it could be.
what mileage do you get at say a steady state 55 and resetting the fuel computer?
p.s. although my truck at 7500 mile might be getting...
ford started out with the engine cover on all three, then dropped it on the xl and xlt. i'm not surprised that they don't include it on anything new -they are remarkably cheap.
btw, the brochure i have shows the engine cover and mentions it regardless of trim. i called ford and they hedged...
hot nd high should help mileage on a turbocharged engine but i don't know about 6k - 7k elevation.
to those guys running anything other than 87 octane: have you tried 87 and had problems? modern auto engine technology/electronics should eliminate the need for anything other than what the...
I'm interested in buying (or swapping for my interior) a medium stone supercab interior (seat, headrest and cushion covers and the two cloth door inserts). I have a 2019 STX supercab with the upgraded ebony black cloth. my truck has only 7500 miles and no one has ridden in any passenger...
sounds right. there's a base black cloth on the XL but the XLT and STX package XLs have better cloth (and slightly different foam cushions). just for the record I have a black upgrade cloth interior on a supercab with 7500 miles and i'm looking to buy a set of stone or beige cloth seat covers...
i have an STX Supercab and often get 27 mpg or more. warmer weather helps and the a/c on these things doesn't seem to impact mileage. if i travel country roads between 50 and 60 mph i'll get over 28 mpg. the fuel computer always seems to indicate slightly better than i actually get but my...
Thanks,
Yes the wires are in the connectors inside the door so i assume they run into those two connectors C210 and C238. If so, i can run a simple harness from the switch to those connectors.
Jim D.
Good news and bad news:
I found the exact wires I would need to both mirrors - positions 8 & 9 on the connectors, yellow with red or green and blues.
but no yellow/green and blue from the switch plug on the dash (although the two switches with or without power fold have different part numbers...
Yes, I have a plug where the folding button should be on the mirror control. The mirror switch with the folding button is only about $35 at dealerships and maybe less from china. I'm pretty sure this will work and if it does i'll get the module kit to open and close the mirrors from the keyfob...
