  1. Transmission Fluid At 40k Miles

glad its working for you, I'm sure you are aware you voided your warranty in the big picture. Was the third party oil company concerned with that at all? or just selling you some oil? Not sure which specific BMW oil you used so we cant make a comparison, but as usual, where you gain somewhere...
  2. Stolen tail light thread

I gotta wonder if thieves join forums to read the jibber jabber on deficiencies in security and then take the notes required to be successful. I know I would keep a pocket torch and pic handy to deal with screws filled with JB Weld. Minor slow down and inconvenience but not a show stopper.
  3. Nearly flawless Ranger

what are you doing wrong? Not putting more miles on it of course.
  4. A couple of newbie questions

As we take a trip down memory lane, we can easily answer both questions as they arise as often as high tide #1 your engine cooling fan. its noisy in the beginning. Gives the big truck feel. Sounds like the lions are waking up before starting the hunt or whatever. The viscous coupling does its...
  5. Cruise control hard shift

another thing that I was thinking about, are you using adaptive cruise control? Are you passing when it's thinking youre too close? Maybe its mixing it signals at the right or wrong time depending how you look at it.
  6. Cruise control hard shift

not sure if turbo lag is causing you added grief. I have found this engine loves a nice spirited gradual press on the accelerator rather than mashing it to the floor. The turbo does its thing marvellously under those circumstances and you accelerate quickly and smoothly and it doesn't tend to...

  12. Transmission Fluid At 40k Miles

Cup of water I drank this morning VS cup of Pee I vacated tonight Its all relative until we see an actual chemical analysis of what's going on with it. For all we know, the darkness is friction disk material. My wheels take on a dusty rusty appearance days after washing because the brake...

  14. Non Ranger content

My local dealer gets a Ranger in...once in awhile. The local inventory as of today:
  15. Stolen tail light thread

couple of these bad boys inside the tailgate with some master locks and we are good to go.
  16. Another transmission thread

can we clarify "trashed"? I really don't think clunky shifts are a trashed transmission, but you keep making that statement. Misfit had a trashed trans as his literally died inside and was no longer driveable. Is yours driveable, and just annoying? that's not trashed imho.
  17. Broken Spark Plug, limp mode at 60,391 miles, Sorry, not covered

Keep in mind, washing your vehicle can introduce water as well. I think the cover is a pipe dream on eliminating the problem and Ford went the wrong route with that idea. NotBodule found the root problem that Ford missed.
