Finally starting to post here a bit and it's cool to see all the places people have taken their Rangers!
Here's mine from this weekend offroading/camping in Mojave and Zion.
So you'll have to input each parameter for it to work. If you go into the X-Gauge setup, it will walk you through each one in the order they're listed there for you to input them and you use the side buttons to make them all match (a bit tedious but that's their system and hopefully you only...
I think the truly biggest issues are just RTT things in general. This is my first and it's early in my ownership so take all this with a grain of salt. It does have a noticeable effect on cabin noise and mileage at highway speeds, though this one being a hard shell much less than the soft ones...
My Roofnest Eagle in action near Zion this past weekend. Some mixed feelings on it but generally pretty positive and it means we can wake up in places like this.
Hey Guys!
So I've been lurking on this forum for a while and finally decided I should post this up here. I love seeing all the cool builds people are working on with the Ranger and I've loved using mine for all sorts of fun trips.
So here goes...a basic inventory of all the work done so far...
Zion was wonderful and the best part of going right now is it's basically empty (but super super cold...around 20* at night camping nearby in the wilderness). Bryce is fantastic too and they are each different in different times of year but always special. You'll have a great time. And so much...
If I totaled it up, I'm...probably...definitely in that club.
If I don't do the math, I'll never have to find out, right?
Prices omitted for my sanity:
5x 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
5x 17" XD RG2's
King 2.5 Extended Travel Remote Resi/Adjusters/Bypass on all 4 corners
SVC Offroad...
If you have the instructions, follow the "X-Gauge instructions". So you'll go into a menu that will allow you to create new gauges by using code parameters to measure with the ScanGauge and then the codes are charted out here that you'll use as it walks you through each parameter for a gauge...
Yes, you absolutely can! If you go to ScanGauge's website they have a list of Ford/Lincoln supplementary codes for a whole variety of things and if my memory serves, the one that works for the Ranger's trans temp is the 4th or 5th one down in that category.
Other info as well is...
Sure, here are a few in the daylight with my RTT mounted on it from a trip I took last week. And I forget which one it is because yes it's not on the website yet, but Tim at GAS (Galpin Auto Sports) ordered it for me (and does a lot of the work on my truck, he's fantastic) so if you're in the LA...
I can't say enough about the Leitner Designs rack I just got and installed for mine. Super modular and adjustable and can handle some serious abuse if you plan on offroading your ranger too.
I have an MX4 and I really like it. No serious leaking issues, just a bit of drip at the corners occasionally but it's a truck so I think that's pretty darn good considering the functionality it has. Not great at keeping dust out when offroading in baja though. Way better than open though!
I have none of the issues you've mentioned either. Lariat FX4 SuperCrew with just over 1000 miles including a Baja offroad trip and I've got nothing but praise for this truck even as stock. And in very mixed driving (from highway cruising to 4Lo in rocky washouts) over that first 1000 miles...
Thanks! I really love it. It seems a lot of cameras have a hard time really portraying the depth and quality of the color, it's way better in person than on the internet!
The pepper red really is the best color for the new Ranger, IMO. It changes in different light, looks great clean and dirty, and will be super unique in the future I think. It seems a lot of cameras have a tough time capturing the depth and quality of the color, but it looks amazing in person...
Sort of replacing something in a totally different category. Had an 84 FJ60 that I loved and used as an overland/road trip vehicle, but the lady enjoys a quieter, smoother ride and heated seats and an engine with any sort of power that can do above 65mph lol. And honestly, so do I. So the 60...
Agreed! I had an Audi S5 for a while (back when the S5 was truly great, 4.2L v8, 6spd manual) and that electric e-brake malfunctioned twice while I owned it (and naturally the default is on and it was not possible to turn it off), so twice I had to put the car on rolling casters to get it out...
