  1. TFLT: Toyota Tacoma Sales Decline in July, Frontier and Ridgeline Improve

Not that the Tacoma has a real boxed frame like the Hilux...or the Ranger.
  2. Best Tire Shine product

Yep, it's all an ongoing thing...tires, clearcoat, you name it.
  3. Best Tire Shine product

Agree, most of the oil-based ones will just fling off onto the truck. You can rub the tires down a bit to take off the excess, but in sun or hot conditions it just comes back. Plus, oils and tire rubber aren't the best mix.
  4. Best Tire Shine product

The rubber in tires is somewhat porous and will develop a layer of dirt, traffic film & brake dust over time. The dirt is water soluble but is often trapped by the other contaminants. Regular PH neutral soap isn't going to touch this...superclean or purple power (both alkaline cleaners) will...
  5. How to repair a deep scratch on a Ranger - only for the brave and skilled with tools.

One thing they don't say is to check whether it's gone through the clear...if it hasn't fewer steps are obviously needed. Also, they're using a solid paint color...much easier to blend than metallic. Another factor is paint fade over time, especially for red, making factory touch-up paint...
  6. Ceramic Seal Coat Prep. for the Ford Ranger

Hard core..? so hard it only took him 30 minutes and was so easy he thought he might not have done it right. Cheap and easy...works for me. Tried a nice 2-piece perforated clay pad set that autozone sells, but it seems a bit harsher on the clear coat than a bar.
  7. Ceramic Seal Coat Prep. for the Ford Ranger

30 minutes is about right for a new truck...as long as it's been cleaned properly. With the clay bar it's all about feel. When you feel resistance you clay the area...when the surface feels smooth and the bar slides easily you know you're done.
  8. Best Tire Shine product

Agree, Trim Shine is good stuff...Stoner's also makes a product just for tires. I use them both. Won't fling off like the greasy tire products out there. https://www.amazon.com/Stoner-Car-Care-91044-Dressing/dp/B0002KKIS2
  9. 4x4 decal removed

I had a custom FX4 set made, tried a few different sizes (smaller than the huge stock ones), but am running slick now and liking it. Easier to clean, wax, etc. as well.
  10. PRE COLLISION ASSIST

Will never have another vehicle without adaptive cruise
  11. Best Bug Remover??

The nice thing about foam-based bug cleaners (like Turtle Wax), is you can apply and let sit without it running all over everything. Come back and simply wipe off without scrubbing.
  12. Ceramic Seal Coat Prep. for the Ford Ranger

Some good info...exactly what a good detailer will do to your car. As he said, it's a good idea to get the initial rail dust and other bonded contaminants off the clear coat...otherwise you'll just be waxing over it. Both Meguiars Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner or Eagle 1 Black & Plastic Triple...
  13. FORScan Crowdsourced Wiki

There is an AM/FM Menu option in IPC Module Configuration. Haven't tried it yet.
  14. FORScan Crowdsourced Wiki

Originally you had to enter codes...that was updated to menu items for many of the features.
  15. Best Bug Remover??

Some detailers use the foam version professionally. Stuff works.
  16. Streaks on new windshield

Use Citrol followed by a clay bar and I guarantee it'll be clean. Unfortunately, most glass cleaners are only good for washing mostly-clean glass.
  17. WARNING: Mud Kills Alternators

During T6 Ranger torture testing they talk about the importance of having the alternator up high...see at 1:10
  18. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

I think people sometimes overestimate the value of a front locker and underestimate that of terrain management. The more I use TM the more impressed I am with it.
  19. DIY: Adding the 12V Power Outlet Option in the Bed

The plug is down near the frame...you could use the 12V outlet harness (seen above) and modify as needed. It's not hot all the time, but there's a long delay after the vehicle is switched off. If I remember right, the delay can be changed using Forscan from 10 minutes to 1 hour. I think standard...

    Seriously, that was awesome!
