Yeah, your probably right. Figure I’d end up doing it myself anyway since I’m OCD like that and don’t trust most folks to work on my vehicles unless I really know them well. I’ll hit it with a brush and an inhibitor and call it a day.
Damn, I definitely don’t want to lawyer up. I just want to get out in front of the issue and stop the rust from getting worse. I had thought about that too, that it sat in Michigan because the salt is everywhere on the underside. It never dawned on me to inspect the underside upon purchase...
Makes sense and the rust on my truck is probably excessive compared to many others in this forum. Definitely frustrating and is driving my OCD car enthusiast side crazy!
Okay, I thought that could be the case. Looking at the second and fourth picture, even these areas? I see that some of it is on various welds too. Suppose I can wire brush all these areas and treat the exposed metal but figure the dealer can resolve the finish issues better than I could.
Wait! Before you go. I need advice on my rust issue
Rust - The Dealers Problem or My Problem? | 2019+ Ford Ranger and Raptor Forum (5th Generation) - Ranger5G.com
I'm pretty new here but been around long enough to catch some of your posts and they are always insightful. Believe the last...
Hi everyone. I've tried searching the forums and there are threads about rust but nothing that helped answer my question. So here it goes...
I now have about 2500 miles on my truck and while a neighbor and I were working on the suspension we noticed all the rust, salt, and corrosion (drive...
I see some around San Diego but it’s interesting that there’s at least seven near my house. Neighborhood peer pressure I suppose:rockon: Now reduce that to the Rangers that are visibly modded and haven’t seen many at all. Maybe three including myself. A modded Ranger is a unique thing:thumbsup:
Finally installed the Diode Dynamics Pro fog lights, and my Moto Metal 970 (22x10 -18) wheels are about to ship. The light install was a pain but looks great.
Definitely. Had the same thing on my Scat Pack Charger. Good way to add those little creative touches but still look sinister. Badass car you have there! :muscle:
Still awaiting wheels :crying:...In the meantime finally installed the Diode Dynamics Pro fog lights. A straightforward install but a pain in the ass because the space is super tight. FYI, I only removed the wind dampeners and reached my hand/tools up from the bottom. Oh, and whoever...
Thanks. I had all the paint match work done at OEM Auto Art. I didn't even think about the handle until they suggested it. They have an online presence but happen to be near me. If you call them they can order the part, paint it, and ship it to you. You'd be the second Cactus Gray truck after I...
Love the idea! I don’t have a Miata but I love my 2008 Solstice GXP. These little cars are great to have to scratch that manual transmission fix. Nothing better than zipping around town or a track as a contrast to the Ranger.
Took a better shot of the lights. I have the Diode Dynamics fog lights to install but the amber of the fogs will go nicely with the Raptor style lights.
