The biggest problem is many people hitch up a trailer and think they can drive like empty..
The test track in ohio did some test some years ago about wind effect by trailers.
Little around 45/50, a lot at 55/65 and HUGE at 70+ ..

Really , part of the problem is the short drawbar, part is you cant see till it is too late.

Near as I can get the ranger burns about 4 gal an hour,, about 3.5 hrs per tank with reserves
[ I use to fly] average.
More than 3 hrs requires a brake anyway.

Many people Seem to think that you need to account for the fresh,gray and black tanks as full.
Unless you are strange, the weight will be TRANSFERED from the fresh water tank to the others.
Also unless you resupply,, the weight of food will EQUALIZE too...

Try this ,, when at lower speeds not on cruse ,use sport mode.
Once up to cruse and using cruse control, shift to drive.
I find the engine most happy around 2000 rpm..
Driving at low speeds allow the engine to lug to much in drive.
