I loved this F150, my last truck, but did not love the 15 mpg, I am all done with big construction projects, so my new Ranger is just about the right size for a fishing truck.
But I DO resent that I could not get the cooled seats that my son got in his 2019 Explorer.
I installed these and agree with above; do not use these for anything heavy. These merely pinch about 1/4" of sheet metal on each side. If they rip out, the body-work repair might be messy.
You say, "you have to grind down part of the shoulder", can you tell us what part of the shoulder, exactly? I am trying to visualize this before I order them.
You have been misinformed about OEM tires. These are very good tires, but designed only for the test-drive. Don't get me wrong, they last far longer than the test-drive, but these are the tires that Ford engineers designed the suspension for and these tires work great.
My problem with the...
Whatever you do, get the adaptive-cruise.
And, I believe that 80-90% of FX4 buyers get that option for the "FX4" sticker on the fender, because that is the percentage of these that never go off-road. I am not saying that the FX4 package is a gimmick, but I sure do not need it and I am in the...
When folks say that "they don't make them like they used to", I reply, "Thank Goodness". When I started tinkering with engines, cars, and motorcycles in the '50s, a 100K mile vehicle was a rare bird.
Consider. Sealed batteries were an astonishment to me when they came out. I put the tranny...
Yeah, I hate the gnarly looking welds on the underside, too. I do not need a step and my wife does not like them because they dirty the back of your pants legs.
I hate the look of that underside tab, too. Just unsightly. I am thinking of some kind of tape applique, or having it painted black...
I love my supercab. I had much more room in the back of my former F150 but with a bed-cap, I never put anything in the back seat but my hat. Strictly cargo or dogs go in the dog hammock slung between the headrests. The seats themselves are in a bag on a garage shelf.
My wife has a four-door...
How did you do away with the seat backs? I understand they are important for air management when opening and closing doors. On another string, I read where the replacement parts are around $300 - unreasonable to me.
That looks like a most enjoyable road trip. Congrats on your safe return.
I have done many, many cross-country trips on my F150 last truck but while it was a most comfy ride even with two big dogs in the supercab hammock, I never enjoyed the 15 mpg.
I am a little concerned regarding the padding around the rim-edges, but I am sure you are too. I love those Postal folks but they are not known for 'tenderness'.
It was a pleasure doing business with you, Rob. PayPal funds sent.
I consistently get between 23-24 overall at elevations around 7,000'. I punch it when I need to but otherwise always use the cruise for economy.
My former 5.4 F150 never got better than 15, 10 with a trailer on. It is like I died and went to heaven!
Not too impressed with the contact-paper feel and look, although it does brighten up the drab cabin a bit. I will leave it on for now, and see if it grows on me.
I need tire advice.
My standard tires are 265/60R18. Can I use 275/65R18s for winter tires? Will I have to spacer or anything, to avoid rubbing?
(Anybody have a set of 18" wheels for sale?)
