Like I said, not sure the why or how. Just that it ALMOST sounded like a liability issue. I am sure there are plenty of dealerships (ford and others) that go against manufacturers instructions. Sometime for the better and sometimes for the worst.
First thing that come to mind for me, and I could be totally off, because I am not quite sure how it would work, is that Ford dealers are not to install keypads not attached to vehicles for liability reasons.
Someone comes in with a keypad and truck they want programmed, and later does something...
I had this happen a few times; I would go out thinking I had a dead battery, open and close the hood and bam. Truck would start fine.

Definitely interested.

Itās finally in! Just dropped it off this morning for repairs. Looks like itās gonna come out just under $2800, should be done the 11th. In the meantime youāll catch me cruisin around in a 2021 Nissan Murano (my rental).
My father has a 2020 Silverado 1500 he picked up new directly from the dealership as a work vehicle (he's a Ford guy his personal truck is a F150). Anyway his first long trip out (about 600 miles round trip) the hub cab fell off. They're just steelies and the dealership wouldn't replace it...
