Looks like another hurdle⦠I think the only rails Kuat guaranteed former with was the retrax ones. Those setups were more than I wanted to spend. I planed on an x15 lopro cover with trucedo TS rail mounts. The T-nuts and bolts from Kuat are too thick and too tall to fit the channel. The heads...
I mentioned previously that rei miss labeled so these are actually shot 3ā longer than the true ranger specific setup . Didnāt bother me enough to do anything about it, but may just cut to correct length.
Gonna go poke at it today. Picked up rail risers and a Molle panel for the cab side. The cross bars at full height were a touch too low to have a kayak on just the cross bars. The risers will fix that and and flexibility for whatever else might overhang the cab. Also will add a tonneau cover if...
Snagged 5 Bronco Outer Banks 18ā wheels and tires for $200 for my ā23 Ranger. 25k on 4 tires and one new. Just want the wheels for use as with snow tires for next year. Canāt beat that price
My truck WAS next to my wifeās car when I parked. With the e brake on. 2 or 3 tires were on bare pavement. The stock Hankook dynapro ATMon my ā23 arenāt inspiring confidence. Never had that problem with the kumhos on my wifeās pilot. This is not the first time truck slid.
I love it, but keep in mind the ācorrectā length version of this is apparently still not out. What I have is around 3ā longer than what Kuat designates. I wouldnāt say it looks, bad. But after seeing this setup you kind of get why the went shorter. Will try to get picks in the next day or so. I...
so while getting my front lift/level springs installed we found this hanging from a bolt for the front air dam close to the skid plate. 1/4ā⦠top bad. I was hoping to gain back one of the worldās many missing 10mm sockets.
KUAT is sending the shorter side rails when available (a few months). They said to tell free to cut the longer rails down. The internal threading must extend the length of the side rails if that's the case. I'd lose it in the notch for the t slot nut inserts on the cut end though.
The rack is...
Havenāt heard back from Kuat so probably going the return route. I donāt completely hate the fit, but knowing itās not as intended is going to get me. It legit was just poorly labeled by REI online. Hate to return, but it is what it is.
People sell bronco wheels as take offs with basically new tires and tpms sensors for like $800 for a set of 4. Grab those and beat on them. Replace the tires with dedicated snows after. Best of both worlds.
The directions say 1ā away from the cab. I called REI so they will adjust their product page. I called Kuat and need to standby to see how they will handle it. REI is a 1yr return. The 75mm shorter for the real Ranger version (A3) will be roughly 3ā shorter. As is the A1 forested go past the...
Update - so I called Kuat. It is supposed to be the A3, but they are not available yet. The difference from the is 75mm shorter than the A1. Fit guide is getting updated. They are going to follow up with me. Sounds like potentially swapping out the bar 4 side bars.
FWIW, I used w trailer to check fit for the Ranger. Then I ordered it through REI since Iāll use the member rewards for more accessories. This way you can at least verify again either way.
So on second look⦠the Kuat site lets you select Ranger short bed and shows the A3 as the correct fit...
So as far as budget t-slot accessories⦠You can get the t-slot nuts really easily for cheep. Just check what thread they are. M4 or M6 probably. Then you can bolt whatever you want on there. DIY shouldnāt be too tough. Or just DIY to the level of adapting things you may already have.
The Yakima setup is nice. This has extra side rails. The top and bottom sides have t-slot rails. So the Yakima you have to factor that in as well.
Iām at least going to grab the side rail adapters for the Kuat Pivot SR and eventually slap some bike tray on it. Iāll also get the brackets to raise...
