One more note, if you want to be super-safe with the weights: the Geo Pro series has some bunk-house style RVs with hitch weights under 500lb. I.E. the G20BHS. That line is what I was comparing against the 2104s/2109
The dry weight depends on manufacturer. The rockwood website said the 614 included both 30LP gas tanks full and didn't mention the battery at all. My personal CAT scale experience tells me it included the battery.
Also to make sure this is clear, the 614 is with full PROPANE tanks. Water tanks...
That trailer isn't much different from my Rockwood 2104S, just a little longer and has a bunk house. My post history has extensive details on weights/hitch and getting shit to feel alright while driving if you want to go read them, but they're not my final and up-to-date numbers.
I'm using a...
There's also (to my eyes) an elevation difference between the truck vs the trailer. The trucks back axle is a few inches lower than the trailer's front axle. Though I could be getting tricked by the shape of that driveway...
Could also just be the angle of the picture?
The Ranger's back end is higher than a lot of trucks. I've got my EQ hitch for the RV on the second to lowest setting, and RVs tend to have way more clearance/much higher hitch than those flatbeds.
Just throwing mine onto the pile; My XLT FX4 w\black paint has a black steel bumper w\silver bash plate.
EDIT: The rectangular plate above the bash plate is black.
Alright, a little late here but I actually got out to adjust the WDH today and re-weigh. Trailer loaded with all the gear, battery, and 2x 30lb FULL propane tanks that it will carry, but the truck only had some tools and I stood aside for the weights (I wanted a good idea of how much room I have...
I'll definitely try to work with the hitch setup. The front only went up 1/4'' and the back down 1 & 1/2'' when hooked up, so I'm not sure how much room I have to work with there.
I plan on loading the tongue as close to the 750 as I can to help stabilize it.
Though Ford says the blind spot sensors work with trailers under 8' 2'' wide, this 8' definitely lost a good 5 feet of coverage at the back. When going straight, I didn't feel there was a need for a tow mirror, however whenever there was even a slight curve I lost visibility. I plan to buy tow...
EDIT 24 Dec 2019:
I was able to adjust the WDH and remove the stability issue mentioned below.
