I see this problem when using Waze to choose routes. I'll get a menu of options, but I'll have to press the option I want several times until it takes. If there's an adjustment, I'd like to try it.

Look at the bright side, it could be a VW. They've been spewing water pumps and thermostat housings for decades, and VW has done nothing for the millions of vehicles that had these failures. There is no aftermarket solution, either. Best of luck.

A 2020 XLT should have Sync3 and thus Android Auto. Try a master reset to get it back to OEM, then update via Wifi and configure.
