  1. Anyone know what this is?

Most of you wise asses couldn't pass a basic electronics quiz but want to make fun of a guy whose lack of knowledge makes you feel somehow superior. At least a coup[e of folks have given a serious answer. If your goal in life is to make yourself feel better at someone else's expense, it says...
  2. Anyone know what this is?

I don't find most attempts at humor funny. The best way to discourage participation is to poke fun at someone's serious question. What might be obvious to you may be problematic to someone else. I did adult mechanical training for 20 years and always made it a point to emphasize that there are...
  3. Amazon falling asleep at the wheel.

Two day Prime shipping is a thing of the past. Four days is normal and no guarantee you will get your package then. Two day delivery was the best thing about Prime and dependable service....not anymore. Getting too big for their britches.
  4. Show Off Your Mods Big and Small

Had been holding off doing the Ranger lettering for the front grill, but finally decided to do it. I like the results.
  5. 2 Ways to Get X Plan Pricing on a 5th Gen Ford Ranger

I haven't used the pin yet, but plan on checking with my dealer to make sure they will honor it. It also mentions an extra $1000 Bonus cash in addition to the X Plan.
  6. 2 Ways to Get X Plan Pricing on a 5th Gen Ford Ranger

DAV members are eligible for the X Plan. I got a pin number within minutes after applying online. It's good until January 3rd 2022.
  7. If Buying Today, Would You Still Buy the Ranger?

Yes, but would probably go for the Lariat instead of the XLT. It is the perfect truck for me. Not too big or too small. I really enjoy driving it and especially all the high tech features....lane keeping, adaptive cruise and the sync 3. Rides good, good gas mileage looks good going down the highway.
  8. Stereo sucks ducks!☹️

You either have a bad radio or you need to have your hearing checked.....I can't go much past 12 on mine to be in the loud zone. I have mine set for center and little forward from the rear.
  9. mud flaps????

    Hard Plastic....
  10. Auto Stop / Start

Night Light does the trick and a very cheap fix....
  11. SOLVED: Engine Shroud Cover Missing On XL and XLT Trims?

Wow!!! What is the cover made of and which animal finds them tasty?
  12. SOLVED: Engine Shroud Cover Missing On XL and XLT Trims?

I installed the cover yesterday. When I ordered I requested 2 of the mounting studs without realizing you don't get the nuts to secure the cover. I went to Lowes and got them and installed within a few minutes afterward. I personally like having the cover installed and I think it looks more...
  13. Shorter antenna

  14. Shorter antenna

I agree...I went with a small stubby...it works well enough on local channels but don't list to AM/FM that much anyway....
  15. mud flaps????

I installed the Weathertech ones also and am very happy with them...the install was fairly easy but did require some nimbleness...I'm a big fan of Top Coat F11 and I use it on everything including glass, plastic and rubber...it is very expensive but to me is worth it...
  16. Stubby AM/FM Antenna

I graduated electronics school almost 50 years ago and remembered studying about the purpose of the ball on a car antenna. I couldn't remember the technical explanation but found it on the RadioReference.com website from a post by RevGary...his explanation is as follows: "The ball on the top...
  17. Stubby AM/FM Antenna

I think the ball on the older antennas kept birds from being impaled by a ball less metal rod.
  18. Stubby AM/FM Antenna

I prefer as little protrusion as possible, the antenna on my 2017 Edge is functional and attractive...almost looks like the Ranger antenna without the big rubber ducky...they want you to remove it if you go through most car washes and some low slung parking garages....how did the make the Edge...
  19. Stubby AM/FM Antenna

Size matters...in the case of this antenna I think the shorter the better. I would think the shorter one limits the reception of weaker stations, but as I said, I don't listen to AM/FM that much anyway. The Stubby picks up my stronger local channels just fine. It's all personal preference. My...
