I don't think that's as much turbo lag as it is the transmission taking too long to down shift. You can see it yourself by clicking "+" while in "D" and while cruising at say 40 MPH or so, floor it and watch the transmission current gear indicator. For me, it takes roughly 1-1.5 seconds before...
Bingo. Been doing it that way forever. Like we used to say in the Army, RTFM...if the book says 10K, it's 10K. I'm not an engineer and if the ones that are that built the engine say 10K, it'll be fine until then. Still, it doesn't hurt to check the dipstick every now and then. Folks don't...
Same. My last two Fords before the Ranger were Magnetic and Dark Shadow Gray respectively. It's probably my favorite color that Ford offers and to be able to go full monochromatic with the Sport package was a no-brainer for me. I'm not a fan of chrome.
I traded a 2017 crew cab F-150 for my 2019 crew cab Ranger. Both were packaged about the same as my F-150 was an STX with every option and my Ranger is an XLT Sport with nearly every option. I'm already used to the SYNC 3 system as that's what my F-150 had. No power seats (don't need them)...
Keeping an eye on this as the TSB fixed this issue in my truck. Also, pre TSB upgrade, even if the engine was cold and I accelerated harder than normal, it wouldn't have the "4th gear issue".
I definitely don’t have issues with vibration so it must just be the parts manufacturer not supplying enough lubrication to allow the shaft to slide enough.
My current Ranger has this and two of my previous F-150s did too. On the F-150's, it had to do with the drive shaft splines sticking and not sliding efficiently due to the factory not using enough grease when assembling them together. The resolution was to remove the driveshaft and regrease...
I'm at 6500'ish miles and now my truck is doing the same things. I'm getting something like a boost loss on the shift between third and fourth gear, but only when the engine is cold and only the first time it goes through the gears. If I come to a stop and then take off again, it doesn't...
