  1. Rear diff covers now available

I think a silly diff cover is forged? Actually yes, many are. There are advantages and disadvantages to both there are many articles debating which is better. I'm not gonna sit here and argue about it I just don't care that much.

  3. Rear diff covers now available

I remember when I was stationed in Georgia in the Army I went on leave to Upstate NY bought a restored 1984 f-250 with a 351 and 4 speed standard. The previous owner must have put 3.50 gears or even lower in that thing because it screamed doing 70mph. Those 4 speeds were geared low but it was...

was that the 4-speed in the trucks? I had a few trucks with the 4-speed manual what a beast of a transmission If i remember right I think first and reverse were straight cut gears and whined like hell. Doing a whole 2 miles per hour at 3000 rpms lol

  8. Rear diff covers now available

I'm positive it's cast iron. However, I most certainly agree aluminum is a better choice like I said before as it's better for heat and it takes impacts better. The Ford 9-inch is a beast.
  9. Something very strange happened

thank you good sir that is some great information! Sweet truck too! The locker irritates me as it unlocks if your tires are spinning faster than 30 mph. I know it does it for protection from damage but it's too bad because its hard to spin around in a field with posi because it's so easy to spin...
  10. How long to allow someone else to drive your Ranger

yes the search engine was a wonderful invention. It's funny even with it being around for decades now how many people still ask simple questions rather than just googling it.
  11. How long to allow someone else to drive your Ranger

I let my aunt drive it as soon as I got it home. I beg my mom to drive it but she is terrified of it. She has drove it a few times and hates it. She can barely figure out her Ipad so the touchscreen might as well be in a different language and she has always drove standard so she doesn't like...
  12. Telematic Data

they can look at how the vehicle has been driven like top speed, avg speed ect. but I don't know about location I wouldn't think so.

  14. Anyone else notice Edmund's dislike for the Ranger

I would guess it also depends on the rules of the dealership. One I visited didn't let anyone test drive cars without a salesman because they had an addict take a car on a drug run and they were gone a few hours. How they discovered it was a drug run IDK maybe they called the cops and the cops...
  15. Rear diff covers now available

Everyone has their opinions I guess. I'm not an expert on metallurgy but I do know that aluminum can take impacts better than cast iron especially billet/forged.
  16. Anyone else notice Edmund's dislike for the Ranger

it's curious to me how some salesmen let you test drive something on your own and others go with you. I got to take 2 new Tacoma's and a Toyota SUV by myself at one dealer but at the Ford dealer he came with me. Seems 50/50 when I look at vehicles if the salesman comes or not and when they don't...
  17. APG Ranger ProRunner

LOL the Rambler? It looks awesome and all but why Rambler? It reminds me of some 90 year old homeless man with a walking stick.
  18. Letting the truck warm up before driving.

if you use the fordpass app you can add +15 min to runtime and I think max is 30 min if you try adding more at 30 it will say max run time reached or something like that.
  19. Letting the truck warm up before driving.

Up to 90% of engine damage occurs when the engine is cold. I have done a few studies where I ran one engine as soon as it is started and another I let warm up first. I then repeat this for many hours on the dyno. The first ends up with light cylinder/piston scoring excessive blow by and more...
  20. Ranger Raptor paddle shifters on US Ranger?

years ago when I disassembled my first steering wheel I had a horrible introduction in what slip rings are lol it wasn't much fun...
