I did not. I wanted the lights recessed so they were flush with the trim. I used three pieces of 1x1 aluminum angle. I mounted a vertical piece to the bumper brackets to the left and right of the opening. To those, I attached a horizontal piece.

There is enough room to adjust. I have a Tremor and I used one of the upfitter switches for this. I also ran an extra set of wires to the same spot should I want to add a second set in the future. There is plenty of space for that and not have worry about adaptive cruise control radar sensor.

Yeah, I have the wireless OBD scanner - stays in the centre console. I didn’t plug it in because of where I was on the highway, and the fact that the dealership was so close. I am curious what other details it would have given though.

Thanks. Sucks it happened. But, it worked out that it happened when and where it did. My day started hours away from civilization. I read that thread you posted. It sure sounds like that. I’m glad I still have powertrain warranty.
