Today I opened up the doors and the rear driver side drained about a 1/4 cup of water from the drain hole nearest the back of the door. Weird. Then I noticed that if I pushed the door shut but stopped short of actually closing it, more water came out. Drain holes are completely clear. Had it...
The more posts I read the more I’m confused on what the issue is with my Ranger. I do have a starting from a stop shudder, but it is around 1500-1600rpm including when cruising in that rpm range. The severity varies from noticeable to not noticeable. It can’t be the drive shaft because depending...
I also maintain that it is much more widespread than we think. I’ve now watched at least 5 YouTube reviews that mentioned it and numerous people on this forum that stated every Ranger they test drove had it, including myself.
The more I drive mine, which right now is only on weekends to go dirt biking. The more I think this is either low rpm engine tuning or the torque converter. How could the severity of the shudder change depending on conditions if it was caused by the driveshaft or angle.
That really sucks. The worst part is I don’t think that level of dilution will damage the internals quickly enough to show until well after the warranty expires.
Now that I have 1500km on mine I still can’t decide what the issue is. A couple times when it was near freezing out. the first minute or so of slow speed driving coming out of my neighborhood, the shudder was unmistakable, meaning even the passenger noticed it.
Other times it’s more muted...
I’ve been following this thread since the beginning and now that I have my Ranger I wonder if we all have different issues. Some people seem to have it at varying speeds while others have it when they get on it hard. Also the magnitude of the vibration varies. I feel it only from a stop at low...
As far as the fuel in oil issue, I checked the oil on two different trucks before I bought one. They both smelled like gas. However I figured it may have just been caused by these things doing a lot of idling and short test drives then sitting on the lot. Happy to say that after 700km the smell...
So I must have seen that on another truck I test drove. I just checked mine and on the Drivers side I have two shims one around 1/4 inch and the other even thicker. On the passenger side there is only one.
I didn’t use them either. Not sure why the instructions tell you to put them on the hood when I’m assuming you could stick them to the backside of the deflector.
I noticed my truck has a I wanna say half inch stainless (or at least appears to be)plate below the leaf. Just remembered seeing this quickly when I picked her up and wonder if the 2019 has this?
Picked her up Saturday morning. Took her to the cottage and back as well as some short trips. First off, she looks really good sitting on my driveway.
My wife noticed a ding on the passenger door just as we were about to leave the lot. Dealer called their guy and in 45min it was like nothing...
The fact that the vast majority of owners don’t have the shudder. Yet a fairly sizeable amount do.(At least one YouTube review mentioned it and both trucks I drove had it) Points to either most driver’s don’t know it’s there because it’s almost imperceptible or it is only some, which should be...
