Yeah, I know about that "you have to prove the problem was created by the tune" theory. Just would MUCH prefer the peace of mind, and I'd guess if it did come down to it, they could tell your car had been tuned even if you reverse it before bringing into dealership, but that's just a guess...

That's insane. I'm in SoCal too and am planning on adding the Ford Performance Tune as well. Someone better quote me a better price, I'm guessing they are quoting you the premium because you did not make the purchase from the dealer. Did you call Galpin? They have their own performance division.

The engine "cover" is definitely worth it. Just got mine and popped it on, I'd say conservatively it makes at least 50% difference. I went from pretty darn aggravated to not so darn aggravated. It certainly makes a difference but of course still sounds like a DI turbo 4 banger. Definitely...

Did you notice a difference in the other engine noise complaints besides the fan roar, the electronic zippy cranking sounds when hitting the throttle many have complained about?

I am practically despondent over this engine noise issue. It sounds like an electronic lawnmower! Absolutely love everything else about the truck. Did 3 significant test drives and of course heard nothing because windows were all down due to The Virus... I'll give it to 2000-3000 miles running...
