Get what you like. 17s will provide better overall performance off road. Half off retail is where i start for used parts ( car, bike, fitness ect) If the seller wants alot more than that let em sit on their sideyard, especially since the tires are not premium
The tires you mention are D and E load range. If your priority is ride quality and your truck is not heavily loaded, a C load range tire is a better choice. C range tires will typically be lighter and more compliant.
