My wife and I are in the midst of a move to Morgantown, WV from Colorado. I was wondering if anyone knows any good off road shops anywhere in between Morgantown and Pittsburg. I want to eventually overland Rex the Ranger and want to know any good places to get set up with lift, wheels, tires...
I have the 18” Lariat wheels that I can’t stand. So they are getting changed at some point no matter what. I happen to love the Fifteen52’s and want information on how to run those wheels.
@Frenchy - I hadn't really thought about that aspect. Through reading all of the threads here it always seems a rubbing on the crash bars is a big deal to everyone.
@Urabus33 - I look forward to seeing the pics.
@Urabus33 - Thank you for the information. What size tire did you go with? Do you have any lift in your truck or any pictures you can share?
@Frenchy - Your are a wealth of knowledge as always. With tires that are 275/70r17, what would be the rub points causing it to be too big?
I have a stock 2019 FX4 Lariat 4 door and I’m looking at the Fifteen52 Turbomac HD Classic. I have NEVER replaced wheels on any vehicle I’ve owned and I will fully admit I know nothing about offsets, spacers, etc. I really want to go with slightly taller and wider tires than stock and thought...
I am in the middle of a cross country move, but once I am settled I want to start a project car. I want to restore, modify, and lift a Gen 1 Ford Explorer 4 door. I had one back in the 90's and loved it.
2012 Ford Escape. It was a great vehicle, but she had almost 300k miles (I drove for Uber and Lyft while in between jobs) and Ford was offering 0% financing for 72 months on a new Ranger. Well worth it in my opinion.
Walked into Altitude Industries in Wheat Ridge, Colorado to put a RhinoRack on the roof of Rex the Ranger and left that day with the RhinoRack and an RLD Design cap. They had them in stock, although I don’t know if they still do.
Price update... I did notice that I think the 4 brackets are not with the cover. It does have all of the clamps so you will still be able to mount it. And since we are moving away from Colorado, I am willing to exchange this tonneau cover for a case of Banquet stubby bottles.
The backseat is for the dogs, so I can't change that at all. And I have been looking at some bumpers that allow for the movement of the sensors, but I haven't decided on one yet.
@Squatchranger - Once we get moved and settled, and my wife buys a new car so we have more than just Rex, I will be…. Adding a lift, new wheels/tires, new bumpers, recovery gear, lights, roof tent, etc!
Decided to add a lot more storage to Rex the Ranger for our big move east (and for later on when we set the truck up for overland). I went with a Rhino Rack Pioneer for the roof and an RLD cap for the back. I think it looks amazing and now we have plenty of storage.
I just replaced my Gator EFX on my Ranger, 5ft bed with an RLD cap so I’m selling my Gator. I have had it for almost two years and it is in good condition. One of the latches could use new hardware but I believe I have all of the mounting hardware. I can’t include the bulkhead seal as it was...
Are these still available? Will they install on an FX4? Do they bolt onto the frame?
I live in Arvada so it wouldn’t be very far for me to travel to get them.
Thank you for the information.
Matthew
We have two trips down in our new Jayco Jayflight SLX 145RBW. The Ranger didn't come with a tow package, so I installed a Rigid Hitch Class III Receiver, a Ford OEM wiring harness/7 pin adapter, and a Redarc brake controller. Trip one was to Rocky Mountain National Park and the second trip was...
My eventual goal is to go all out... Remove crash bars, new bumpers, new tires/wheels, etc... I like the Old Man Emu because I have heard good things about the off-road capabilities and the towing, but I do want to go slightly taller than your set up. I am just hoping the tires I want will...
