I used a tailgate pad while my shell was on order. I liked the pad a lot, but I needed the security of a shell so I can lock up my bike while Iām working when Iām riding after Iām off. I typically head straight to the trails after work a few days a week.
Iāve got a ratchet bar that pins down a...
Just scrimshawed a Model A on a bone handled knife to give to my father in law along with his other Xmas gifts. Heās got a beautiful ā31 sitting in his garage and he was nice enough to let me take it for a spin on thanksgiving.
We use this 3M VHB tape at work all the time. Itās more than strong enough for this application...as long as the area itās being stuck to is super clean. It can be released with lighter fluid if I decide to remove it later on
Only uses the double sided tape. Iām going to lay down some clear bra film so the high-bond tape isnāt stuck directly to the paint. Already installed a clear bra on the entire front end except for the hood.
I finally applied the Armor Shield IX to my truck during thanksgiving weekend. I applied 2 coats to the paint, glass and wheels and let it cure in the garage for a few days before driving in the rain.
It was actually really easy to apply considering the truck didnāt need much paint correction...
Just got the WeatherTech deflector today. This is the low profile version that doesnāt have a raised bit to send junk over my roof...this will only protect the front edge of the hood. I applied a ceramic coating to my truck recently, so Iām gonna wait a while before installing it
Applied my ceramic coat yesterday...turned out great! It was way easier to work with than Iād expected and the truck is super reflective now. Itās sitting in the garage to cure today, except for the photo shoot with my father in lawās toy
Thanks...definitely excited to get it done.
Iāve already used a clay mitt as well as an iron remover on it, so Iāll give it a nice wash using a soap that doesnāt contain conditioners of any sort. Since the truckās only a couple of months old and the paintās in great shape, Iāll just do a light...
Your shop truck does look great! Iām also curious about which product you used.
Iām actually planning to do a ceramic coating on Friday. Iāll be using Armor Shield IX and Iāll post photos when Iām done. Iāve had the coating in my garage for about a month now, so Iām anxious to use it.
So far...
I ordered the WeatherTech Low Profile deflector last night. Havenāt seen one in person, but it looks nice in pics. I think it looks best on darker colored vehicles, so it should blend in well on my Magnetic Ranger. It gets installed with double sided tape, so Iām planning to lay down some clear...
I also use a hitch mounted rack for rides where Iām not planning to stop anywhere, but Iāve found that a couple of mtbs stood up with the front wheels removed and the forks mounted on a solid footing will fit diagonally in the bed.
I got the Leer 180 shell for the extra 4ā of height. That...
Congrats on the sweet truck! Coming from my ā01 Ranger with the 6ā bed, the shorter bed took some time for me to figure out as well. Iām using mine to cart mountain bikes around instead of skis though. I too couldnāt be happier with my FX4!
I decided to get a shell on it and I figured out how...

I ordered this cover. It fits great, but definitely easier to put on with an extra set of hands. I ordered the cover, then decided to get a shell installed, so I gotta pass this cover off to a midsized truck...
Truck looks great! I doubt that these spray on ceramics will last as long as they claim, but the one that I used was so easy, Iāll likely do it as often as Iād wax. Iām gonna use Armor Shield pretty soon, but I plan to use a ceramic spray on top every month or so as upkeep
Obviously youāll be cutting through the clear too, but again Iād hold the blade damn near flat against the body so youāre not damaging the clear under the decal. Good luck!
So the side with the clear over the decal was repaired? Sounds like the body shop sprayed clear over the decal instead of removing and replacing over the new clear coat.
I work for a sign company and weād use a heat gun to make it easier to remove the decal and lighter fluid will remove any...
