I love all Ford trucks old & new ...but I get 2 new loaded Rangers before dropping $95k on F150 Harley Davidson! They will sell them all tho guaranteed . Ford can sell high end trim levels.
I concur . I always let it run 5min or so b4 driving no matter what time of yr it is! My XLT FX4 has 9k mis approx ..an runs, drives, shifts & sounds perfect in every way. The synergy of this motor/tranny/chassis Is an engineering milestone of trucks in my experienced opinion. I've owned many...
I go to Reineke Ford in Lima, Ohio. Altho mostly have a trusted shop handle my oil changes using my preferred oil & filter. They charge me $25 for labor! Ford dealer will let me bring my own stuff to but higher pricing an I cant watch them do it:(
Well , I will say this from a mechanical engineering standpoint an lifelong car/truck hobbyist pt of view. If you insist on running the oil change intervals out to 7500mis an that's entirely ur choosing... as well as the owners manual recommendation. U had better use a FULL SYNTHETIC 5w30 SN+...
I get asked too all the time at gas station etc. Its a sporty looking truck I get told... an ppl know they havent seen em new in awhile ....really dont have complaints with this truck an enjoy it more so as the mis accrue. Thats something I cant say I've felt anytime in last 3+ vehicles owned ...
It only gets better with age/mis so far.. in my experience. Approaching 10k mis an its smooth as vanilla ice cream in ride & esp powertrain etc. Be sure all are using an SN+ rated motor oil! Prevents LSPI . Better overall performance for any TGDI motors.
Good assessment of the matter! Thankyou. In Michigan & Ohio u may pick ur own repair shop as well. Ppl sometimes just go along w/ all the Ins Co recommends . Choose ur own well qualified an recommended shop always.
As a mechanical engineer I too have certain standards you could say. We all are entitled to our opinions of course. Owned alot of auto makes but never a Subie. Just didnt appeal to me personally & the boxer engine design still burns oil at a scarey rate. Trim levels def shouldn't dictate fit &...
That's a big price difference I agree. What area / state u in? Out here in upper midwest..Ohio/Michigan where I spend most my days..I utilize ONLY 93 premium of various tier 1 brands an pay as of late around $2.70 its remarkable how much fuel prices change in various markets / regions of US. God...
I use 93 octane in winters mos here in NW Ohio. My MPGs average over 22 consistently. Mixed local & highway driving. Try premium fuel. Very warm here lately tho.
Ur getting OUTSTANDING fuel economy. It's still a heavy truck. I get 22.4 average an tickled. 9k mis now. Love it. My son ordered a '20 Ranger in race red. Keep truckin! SN+ rated full synthetic oils only.
Absolute truth. More durable RS rally car motors indeed. Run good SN+ full synthetic oil & good flters ur golden. I like to use 93 octane cause these motors REALLY LIKE IT.
Truck did its job. No weak frames on these..they are rated to tow 7500lbs! Tell ur brother ..an glad his lady Is ok ..the truck took a HARD hit. Get it totaled an get another Ranger!
Your fine. Dont do again till after break-in an also an early oil change in my opinion . Real good brand full synthetic 5w30 w/Motorcraft filter. It does shift on it's own in my truck ...maybe if you dont touch the manual gear shift?
