Where we are, there are many significant interstate passes that are a challenge to trailering no mater what you're driving. We just have to pay a bit more attention.
Our tongue weight is a bit over 10%, which is right where it should be.
Actually, I did look into the Hensely as I have some...
I re-aim mine twice a year; in the spring when camping season starts and the fall when it ends. I have strips of tape on the back wall of the garage at the appropriate heights. Takes less than 5 minutes.
We have a Jay Flight 24RLSW. (When we bought our Ranger we were originally looking at a 21 foot) After loading it up with our gear, I weighed it at a Cat Scale and we were just in limits. (About 710 on the tongue) Power isn't a problem, but going downhill or in crosswinds requires extra...
Now into year 5 on the original in my 2019 Lariat. It doesn't get driven much this time of year, so I wasn't surprised that the auto-stop wasn't working on my round of errands last week until just before returning home. (One of the errands was replacing the original Hankook tires) It will get...
If I had one main complaint, it would be that. They really could have done better with the twin screens on the Lariat. It would really be nice to have the stuff I look at 99% of the time on one screen.
I'm approaching the same decision before winter hits. I have been able to get over 4 years and 47,000 on my original set of Hankooks. I primarily use my 2019 Lariat 4x4 for towing our travel trailer from spring into fall, and skiing in the winter. When I bought my Ranger, I was on the fence...
I tow a heavier travel trailer. Power will not be your problem. Going downhill will be your concern as your trailer will weigh more than the truck. The 2.3 with the turbo is great for power, but doesn't offer as much for braking. Expect to be reving near redline going down passes.
Have a 2019, and am still on the original battery. Have had the same thought and am watching it closely. I just drove my truck today after having been sitting for three weeks, and noticed that the auto-stop-start didn't shut it down until I was done with most of my errands, suggesting that it...
Exactly. I don't want to take my eyes off the road as long as it takes to read a bunch of numbers and process what they mean, especially while towing. Well-designed gauges are quick to interpret.
I have a 2019 SuperCab Lariat. I almost went with the XLT just because of the instrument cluster on the Lariat was such a disappointment. Did the people who designed this ever drive the truck? I am constantly changing screens to see what I want to know, like the temperature, RPM & distance to...
