Thanks Phil, somehow I've missed that part of the reason to call them. I try not to just jump on dealers since warranty payouts appear to be an issue. One which seems to be industry-wide.
That's suddenly interesting, because I don't recall my 9/19 build engine experiencing cold surging, not until I got it back from the dealer with a new HPFP. I'm sure it's just me, but it also doesn't feel as responsive to throttle input.
I bought the WeatherBeater's for the front at the beginning of the year. I like the nubs, especially after seeing how badly the Weathertech fits and slips around on the passenger side in our Focus. As far as I'm concerned, they're equivalent in quality overall to Weathertech.
Sorry, can't...
Part of that is to stick with top tier brands only and from a place that's busy. I'd be especially concerned about old premium, given the possibility it turns over more slowly.
As far as I recall, there are two main places for this stuff, https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/forscan-modifications.1844/ and the one listed in its very first post.
Guess I should add my little data point, which is to say that the HPFP in my Ranger was changed last week. The tech thought I was up a quart in 1,100 miles after they changed the oil. I'm skeptical but will see what happens.
That's not accurate in that it doesn't show completed recalls. As if they never existed for the vehicle. This is from our '12 Focus, which certainly has had several safety recalls done now, including door latches and sticking purge valves that can create enough vacuum to collapse the plastic...
From pg 79:
Resetting the Memory of the Electric Windows - Vehicle with One Touch Up/Down on Driver Side only
Note: The bounce back feature remains turned off until you reset the memory.
In the event of a flat battery or after the battery is disconnected from the vehicle, you must reset the...
Yeah, I don't recall the process to get auto window stuff back, but it's not hard. Pretty sure it's in the user manual. Saving settings is another simple thing with most other software that Ford doesn't get I guess.
Don't blame you, as bad a process as it's been. Not sure if it's real-time OS's or what, but the slow convoluted updates sort of reminds me of old Nortel pbx's. The difference is that those things worked pretty well at what they were designed for. The quirkiness was better hidden from users...
That's how it went for me. Stopped in not long after purchase to whine about the lack of PDI (oil level seemed too high, tire pressure in the mid 40's, etc), and they did the disconnect while I hung out in the new lounge. Think I went with tea, or a bottle of water though.
I took the "doc it...
Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes? That's what my base Sync system took to stop its complete malfunction after trying to connect it to home wi-fi.
Assuming the little pickup makes production next year, adding it would be interesting too. Then again, how many will consider a Focus truck a real truck?
Yep, that first awkward shift pattern sure sounds common. I think some call it a clunk? Haven't noticed your creeping thing. The shudder is definitely under modest acceleration from a stop. Now that I know where to find gear selection, I'll probably try to get a handle on more detail.
The way...
In the event I wasn't clear, shift behavior has been mostly excellent in the truck. There are few exceptions, most all just after startup. The one that really jumped out at me was the no shift flare last Thursday. Which happened once and set no codes, at least not according to my MX+ w/OBDLink...
Thanks for the pointer on the gear selection, John. I've been too lazy to look into it on the XLT and had never used sport mode manual gear shifting. So far the pattern has been 1-3-4 at low speed.
I will, thanks!
