Be interesting to see if the next generation Tacoma (possibly 2021/22) will get a 2.4L turbo option. Also rumored the next gen Tundra will get the 3.5L twin turbo V6 from Lexus.
I put around 160k miles on a 1990 Supercab with the 4.0L and never had that issue. Only issues I had is with the valve covers leaking, A/C lines leaking and the rear ABS module failing.
Yeah, most of the car rags today are pretty much worthless in getting a non bias assessment. I'll stick with Youtube's Savagegeese, Alex on Autos and TFL Trucks.
I've used 303 for years on leather with great results. Used in my 2003 Dodge Ram and my wife's 2005 Dodge Magnum RT. Leather still looked great after 13 years of use with 100k miles. Even use it on my leather jacket.
I've added shims like this to Datsun, Nissan, Toyota's, GM, and Ford pickups to correct the lean. Typically after 4 or 5 years of use it becomes more pronounced.
