Sorry man, it was just a joke. I mean that Ford "cares" about us as much as any multinational mega corp... So it was not meant as like a personal slam on Ford, or folks like you that work there... More of a Wolf is a one man shop and ford is a megacorp kinda thing.
I see how what I wrote could...
Wolfhaus is cool because he's here and rigged up something useful. Ford doesn't even care if you exist. Buy from Wolfhaus so he can crank out more cool 3d printed shit for our trucks!!! :)
Thanks a lot for posting this stuff! I've got a 4Wheel Camper Project M cap, am getting a battery/solar pack and eventually a fridge. So very much like your set up. I like it's only active while under power so while driving it will charge/top off batter pack ,but I don't have to worry about...
https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/show-tell-my-adventures-in-bed-mounting-and-using-available-holes-that-sounds-so-dirty.9773/
I've got almost infinite mounting options and zero extra holes drilled... Maybe some ideas here?
Hey all... So my Ranger was purchased to be mostly for camping/exploring. I don't need massive weight-oriented tie downs/cargo.
I hate stuff shifting around, so I decided to hack my bed a bit to see what I could do with no drilling or perm mods.
Basically I'm repurposing all the stock tie...
I'm wondering what's under there and don't want to rip mine off just to peek. I did an image search and didn't see anything.
It seems to me that drilling into it will more than likely lead into the space between the bed and fender as opposed to leading into the bed itself.
Goal is to try to...
You do the install? I watched the video a while ago and it didn't seem that hard. I also figure it's the roof so even if I f'd it up, no one will ever see it! :) Seems a bit spendy though...
What rack did you go with that required drilling? I'm thinking I'll have to go that was as my Tonneau won't allow clip on bed racks, and bed will be too short anyway for kayaks.
Seems best way to mount kayaks for rough ground travel will be perm. attached roof racks.
Well, that's just cheating and doesn't count! You're just removing the bed so you don't have to drill into it!!! :)
You HAVE to do a detailed run down once it's done... Looks impressive!
It seems that once you get over the "I don't want to drill into my truck" hurdle, the opportunity to improve things like bed cargo carrying options, etc. basically explode to near infinity...
So once you start thinking of ways to mount, build, etc. on the bed using things like RivNuts, etc. I'm...
Yea, but I'm just getting into the more backcountry type camping, so I'm setting up my truck for more solo stuff with a cot tent, etc. Scout out areas, etc. Then when weather is better I'll have camper to drag wife and kid. :)
Not doing anything out of the gate re suspension. I have the FX4...
Well, I pulled the trigger. Will need to wait 'till Mar... but I doubt I'd do much with it over winter anyhoo...
Yea, it's expensive, but I visited their shop to check them out.. Amazingly well build. for what you get, it's crazy light weight, etc. I think it's worth the premium over things...
If there's anyone out there that's managed to snag one of these unicorns for their 5' bed, I'd love to see pics of it mounted... All I've seen is the M on big/fullsize rigs.
Dang... wrong size. I'm on the fence getting one of these vs. building something. It's a first time thing for me, so I know needs will evolve, so I'm not super eager to build/mod/rebuild/mod right off the bat.
Do you mind sharing why you're getting rid of the unit? They are pricey, but do seem...
Hey all... New Ranger ('19 Lariat 5') owner.
Picked it up as a platform to build an "overland" camping & exploration rig for Tahoe Forest, etc. etc. "Overland" in quotes, 'cause I'm not looking to bomb Rubicon or blast Baja. :) I'm looking for something I can use in a modular fashion... Just...
