Guess I'm just going to use an add a circuit to a switched fuse. Can't stand the cigarette charger thing. Gotta get the right size add-a-fuse first. Ordered the wrong size and local Advanced Auto didn't have any micro add a fuses.
Hi, so I have a interior LED lighting kit for the footwells in the front and back. I am trying to figure out how to hook them up to come on when the headlights come on. I run my headlights on auto so I thought I could use an add a fuse circuit to the fog light fuse since I keep them on all the...
Bryan, I ended up getting it professionally installed and I'm not sure what/where they tapped into the output. It is a good little amp though.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
The woofers connect to the factory harness using the Metra 72-5602 wiring harness. The tweeters had built in crossovers and just plugged onto the woofer.
Sorry for the late reply. Hopefully you got it figured out. The only thing I can offer is try to keep the door panel as close to the door as possible when you attach the cable. I didn't have any trouble with mine so I didn't really do anything special. Sorry I can't be more help.
Have you tried messaging mrsmith above? I'm unsure, that's part of the reason I'm letting someone else install my amp. I don't know if you can tell anything from looking at the harness but it is the metra 72-5602. Sorry i can't be of more help.
Ok, so I took the door panels back off because they were not quite flush after adding aftermarket speakers. Attached is a pic of what Crutchfield says needs to be trimmed down for their adapters and new speaks to fit. I trimmed these with a angle grinder and now door panel fits like it should.
The metra 72-5602 wiring harness works. AS far as crossover and tweeters, you would generally connect crossover wires directly from woofer to tweeter. The woofer on component speakers have 4 connectors. I used adapters from Crutchfield to mount speakers. Worked fine. Just my opinion but i would...
As an update to this, I did notice that something was preventing the front door panels from completely come flush at the bottom right where the speaker is. Right now it doesn't cause a problem but I will take the panel back off to see if there is something around the speaker that is keeping the...
No B&O. I think it made a noticeable difference...more clarity and the bass is not as muddy. I am going to get a small (45w) Kicker amp installed in a couple of weeks which I think will improve it even more. Right now I am happy with the bass but after the amp is installed I may add a powered...
I just replaced all 4 door speakers today with Rockford Fosgate 6.5 components up front and 6.75 coax in the back. You do not have to cut anything. However, you do have to figure out how to hold the new tweeters in place as Crutchfield doesn't have a bracket for them. I just hot glued mine in...
Right now I'm just going to replace all the speakers and add a Kicker Key amp to power them. I decided I would do the speakers myself and let an reputable installer do the amp just in case there are any problems. Will probably add a powered sub later as funds allow. I hate to pay someone to do...
Is this with the 8" sync3 radio? Did you have the phases right? Would you be willing to post a more detailed description of installation...kinda hard to tell exactly which wires are which from pics. I am wanting to install an amp using speaker level inputs (using wires from speakers w/o removing...
Yes, that is the amp. Not replacing speakers at this time but plan to as money allows. The amps input harness has rca connectors on it and the manual says to cut if necessary if using speaker level inputs. I guess where I am getting confused is when you say tie into the input speaker wires. I...
Hi all, first post here. I have a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT with the 8" sync 3 system.
I want to add a Kicker KEY180.4 amp to my factory system using high level inputs and i don't want to remove the head unit. I want to make sure of the installation steps( I understand the power and grounding...
