What an easy solution and helps call attention too.
One thing I did forget to mention is that a folded up one up covers the license plate during daily driving, if you keep it there all the time. It also doesn't allow for the tail gate to fold down, so I keep mine flat when I have it on there...
For 5 bikes, a tailgate pad is the best as far as my experience goes. easy on, easy off, packs away anywhere. I just fold it and toss it in the bed.
Every rack or pad will have downsides, you just need to decide which one are you willing to adapt to.
My 2 pennies on the rest in case it worth...
Definitely not doing that tool, one of my friends was telling me today how a guy got his finger crushed when the tool slipped.
Was looking through all data to see the replacement steps from Ford and what tool they showed. This is what they had.
looks like one of these...
Yeah, I might just have to go that route.
It is my understanding that on the 5100 it tells you to use the whole thing (cut some off if it is to a certain lift).
On the 6112 the whole dust cover needs to go, likely because of the larger diameter, and that is what got me going down this rabbit...
Thank you sir,
It is part of #5.
Wonder what the dimensions are, maybe there is one at 2 or 3 inches (doesnt look much bigger than that) tall that I can use on the new setup instead of having to get all of this and disassemble.
Replacing my FX4 with with Bilstein 6112 on the front.
Looking through the install steps, looks like I need to take the jounce bumper from the current set up.
I was looking to assemble the strut separate and just replace it in (it would just make the whole process simpler for my situation). I...
I'll likely be going the stiffer route due to driving habits and getting off the beaten path, roads around here are rough as well.
I too am not looking forward to replacing tires every 2 years.
Thank you!
Thank you!
That answered my question really well, and I get that layout and materials change the ride of the tire to achieve the desired focus of the tire.
Definitely willing to have a bit stiffer ride for more durability and better towing.
The Wilddpeaks are at the top of the list and I am...
Thank you for that response. The Wildpeak is one of the tires I am considering, in the 275 flavor C rated to be more exact, though the 58lbs/tire might be rough.
The E rated tires are clear cut for me, they handle 80PSI and a 3200+ pounds of weight. That might be beyond my use case, other than...
Long time viewer and consumer of knowledge, but fresh to post.
I know another tire thread is not what is desired, but some stuff does not make sense to me, or I need an explanation like I am 5 (maybe add some crayon pictures in there) from people that have a lot more tire wisdom than I do...
