I will still take my Ranger over any other vehicle. While we accuse Ford for not taking responsibility, and rightly so, it should be noted that Ford is no different than any other manufacturer. Just to pick on GM do some research on the key switch failures and more recently the 6.2 V8 failures.
It seems like the dealership mechanics need to actually open the hood and take a look see rather than just finding the first excuse right off the top of their heads.
It almost seems like a good reason to take it to a different dealership but that would involve more costs.
Get some cotton balls and some peppermint oil. A few drops of oil on a cotton ball and then leave them under the seats and in strategic places and there'll be no more mouse problems for a while. Rinse and repeat occasionally.

Installed seat covers. It was hard on the fingers but very worthwhile in my opinion. I like them. They probably will need a little tightening in a day or two. The marks you see is my sweat.
Buy a bag of cotton balls and a couple of bottles of peppermint essential oil. A couple of drops of the oil on the cotton balls and then hide them in and around the truck. I had mice living under the back seat the smell made them abandon my truck. I also liberally sprinkle the battery blanket...
