Woot! So excited to see this fuel tank discussion revived!! I'm in the same position as Wes. I drive to a lot of really remote locations and often at hours and locations where fuel options are extremely limited. FWIW, I came from a Raptor and it's 36 gal of fuel capacity glory. My...
I sure do wish it were that simple and apologies for taking us off-topic. My truck would have had gears quite some time ago. Unfortunately, while the specs suggest the Bronco ring and pinion will fit, it turns out there are unique clearance issues with the Ranger. This is not theoretical...
I'm planning an M220 swap so that I can re-gear to 4:70's. When I do, I might put an ARB in. Waiting on RCV custom axles and then need to plan the down time for the. work. The M190 is quite weak and you would need to be extremely cautious with how you use it. Most likely would end in heartache.
Yeap, lots of options, lots of trade-offs. There's no one solution, but fortunately we have lots of great options.
Note the e-locker rear-end of the current generation is quite strong and handles the 35's with ease. The only issue is width which limits your ability to fit hydros in the rear...
I know. this thread is fairly old now but I happened upon it and thought I'd chime in as the rare owner of an APG built Ranger. FWIW, I came out of an F150 Raptor and have owned quite a few high performance vehicles and am quite into suspension as I race Moto and MTB...
No doubt the Raptor...
This is it. If you’re just banging around town with no load, the range is fine. Load it up (well under gvw) and use it like a truck and that range goes way down.
Driving from Bozeman to Seattle last summer, pushing a head wind at 75MPH, I was averaging around 12 MPG making for an effective...
Loving all the feed back. We're over a 100 people interested in just a day. Hopefully this enthusiasm is enough to get Transfer Flow onboard. I love my Ranger but I can't count on more than 150 miles of range in many circumstances and even less when towing. Another 10 gallons or so and...
Alright folks. I spoke to Transfer Flow and they may be willing to build us a tank if we can show enough interest. They are currently working on a tank for the Superduty trucks with the 7.3 gasser after that forum was able to put together a petition with 2-300 requests. We’re going to need to...
No response yet on this project, I’m going to expand my search to more vendors. FWIW, the majority of gas (non-diesel) rigs that I’ve come across with extended range tanks are using a 2nd tank and pumping or gravity feeding into the OEM. I know that if I had the time, I could simply take...
Hey folks, I am getting to work on a US domestic supplier for a long-range fuel tank for the Ranger. I am going to need to show significant interest. The 34 pages of this thread (so far) is a good start but I'll probably try to create some sort of formal survey soon. Stay tuned.
The value of larger brakes on trucks has a lot to do with the weight we add. @BassRanger has some very valid points. But, most guys aren't adding 20+ lbs per corner in oversized tires and hundreds or thousands of pounds of cargo to their hot car to autocross. For instance, I'm running...
SVC has billet tie rods for the. Ranger as well. I have an APG long-travel setup. and no complaints but the SVC option is possibly a good option and quite a bit less money

Getting springs right is so tricky if you don’t get your truck loaded and weighed and then have custom springs done to that spec.
For sake of being thorough, my setup includes weight reduction through APG carbon fiber bedsides and fenders along with alloy bumpers and AWE exhaust. So, my start...
Without a doubt, the best way to approach this problem is to load your truck completely, then weigh it on a CAT scale. Provide those weights to Deaver and they will build you a spring pack custom to your specs. With the specifications from Deaver you can then have Kings, Fox, etc (I agree...
that Dana news is exciting. I’m in an APG built Ranger on 35’s and the lack of proper gears has been a big disappointment. The m190’s lack of strength is also not particularly awesome. Stoked to see this come together. I can’t imagine the m210 is dimensionally much different. The devil will...
FWIW, I have a GFC on the back of mine so fuel inside the bed is not an option. I do also have a Rigd ultraswing with the sidehack which can carry a 4 gal rotopax but I’m using that position for a 6 gal propane tank. Running out of space for things!!! Heh
I ordered 2 for now, that gets me to 30 gals. That gets me up to around 400 mile working range with a few gals in reserve. Once I get them fitted, will see how low the stack of 2 hangs and what makes sense.
Thanks Wes, I just ordered the Trail’d setup. We’ve got a spring Baja plan coming together and looks like the LR tank is a ways off. The Trail’d setup might actually be better for occasional use.
Looking at the design, I suspect fabbing up a skid plate would be super easy if one wanted a...
I’ve been on 35’s for about 5 months. I have other mods including a GFC and am averaging 15.5 MPG. I’m running the FP tune, intake, cat-back exhaust, and a mountune intercooler but stuck with stock gears for now. If you’re in the boost, the truck pulls great, particularly on level ground near...
