With all the discussions going on potentially related to the two-piece driveshaft design, has anyone had a single piece drive shaft made for their truck? If so, can you share the details?
Thanks,
Dan
Haha, I wouldn't call it a lie.
I tried the same thing except I lowered in 3 psi increments starting at 40 (the truck had 40 when I first purchased) all the way down to 20. Still had the vibration.
So yeah, I exaggerated a little, but not by much. The tire pressure had little to no effect.

No they won't. They will exhaust all the obvious ideas and when they run out of them, they will send you on your way. The fix is not working for a fair number and Ford doesn't have the answers as of yet.

I am in the same boat. The TSB did not improve the shudder at all. I just called customer care to inform them the TSB was not effective. Their suggestion......"Go to another dealer". Not gonna happen. My dealer bent over backwards trying several combinations from the shim kit after the...
I had the same thought as you. Ford had the tech here at the dealer drive the trucks on the lot and they all had it as well. I'm thinking the number of trucks exhibiting this problem is actually higher but some owners are more sensitive than others. Driving on roads than are a bit on the...
I would also like to know what the geometry differences are between shudder trucks and non-shudder trucks. (Or whatever the cause of the problem is)
All of the trucks on the dealer lot here have a similar shudder so it will be interesting to see what the final poll numbers are.

Round 3/Round 4...... I don't know anymore, I'm losing track.
Start up shudder still there. The tech ended up trying all combinations of shims and nothing worked. This is not the solution for the low speed/start up shudder.
Ford had them (sevice team) drive the other Rangers on the lot and...
Take it up to freeway speeds and report back. My truck was marginally improved at low speed (2nd attempt), but then a high speed vibration issue developed at 75-80.
I'm back at the shop today for round 3. The service advisor and drive line specialist are a bit frustrated as well and indicated...
Round 2.......
Dealer ended up trying just about every shim in the kit and it still had the low speed vibration.
They shimmed to what they thought was the best with minimal (yes I said minimal, they acknowledged it is still there) and the service advisor wanted my opinion. It seems marginally...
What speed did you experience the shudder? Mine occurred at 12 mph before the shim and at 7 mph after the shim. It's going right back next week for round number two of shim fix.....
They didn't tell me the specific measurements but indicated they were on the phone with the Ford tech line for a considerable amount of time. Apparently the 1.5 degree shim is not included in the TSB shim pack so Ford wanted to verify all measurements before sending the new shim kit to the...
