Oil change time and this time just let the shop I trust use their oil and filters etc which is Napa oil filter and Napa full synthetic.
Saved me $100 since I usually request Purolator Boss and PUP. ?
They replaced the filter as well and cost $560.
A bit pricey perhaps but they check everything and even document with pictures.
My fluid was dark but not burnt. The shop (no dealership for me!) on the previous oil change mentioned that “these transmissions are great but need to be maintained...
I’m hoping it’ll be easier to align when the jackers are out. When I installed the jackers I had to cut away some extra carpet that was preventing the jackers from staying in place.
So I goofed. I installed seat jackers and after some experimenting, I decided I want to go back to stock.
I’m an idiot as I cannot locate the original seat bolts.
What size/type are they, can anyone tell me? I’ll need to go buy new ones.
Thanks!
I’ve noticed that 99.9% of places here only use Valvoline. ?
I wonder since Cale Yarborough (may he rest in peace) lived nearby and was almost always associated with Valvoline. That’s probably not the case but I’ll go with it.
There is a franchise called Strickland Brothers (yes they use...
UPDATE!
One of the shops called back and told me after thinking it over it would be bad customer service to deny a reasonable customer request. ?
My Pennzoil Ultra Platinum diet is still alive!
Any Florence SC area peeps here? Is peeps still okay to say? ?
Anyway, short story long but I am...
I just installed (both shims) on the front. I prefer a “bucket” style to keep me planted. Always had to scoot myself back as I drive because I constantly slide forward.
Installed my seat jackers today. The plastic tabs covering seat bolts came off and went back in without an issue.
Took my wife and I over an hour to line up the brackets and get the seat in position.
Had to cut away some excess carpet under the seat as well. Probably saved myself $250 or so on...
Overall I have no issues with my seat but it has, for me, no thigh support whatsoever. I do have seat jackers but I’m not mechanically inclined so I’m nervous I’d screw something up. ?
I’ve also thought about aftermarket seats all together.
I know because I set my CC to 66mph in a 60 mph zone but still got pulled over because I wasn’t paying attention and entered a section that was 45 mph.
Whoops! Anyway, cop said I was going 66!
Therefore my speedometer is accurate!
Washed with Armor All Wash & Wax. Great result for the price. I overall cannot tell a difference between brands anyway but this one doesn’t have those ridiculous fruity scents and it rinses clean!
My wife and I are moving to Florence SC within the next 2 months.
Looking for recommendations for local garages. I’m not a dealership service type of guy.
I have seen a PeeDee Mobile Oil and they have great reviews. Anyone use them?
I was using Amsoil OE until last change went with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. At first seemed to run a bit smoother but now really notice no difference.
Interestingly, Pennzoil is “supppsed” to help with mileage, but mine went down .5 mpg. ?
Might try Castrol Edge next.
Oh, Motorcraft oil filter.
Added the hood bumpers and those side hood seal strips. ?
Can definitely tell there’s no longer a thud and have to give the hood a bit more oomph to close.
I got it from Levittown Ford Parts. No discount.

No mice, I have a nice shed that they prefer to call home…the ones that survive anyway. Lots of coyotes and in the summer the perimeter around my house is swarmed with black racer snakes.
