Yeah, chrome is much more durable and easier to clean. I would get chrome, but Ford requires the fake-chrome wheels, which I hate.

Maybe see if the dealership will pro-bono (wishful thinking?) remove, sand and repaint. Otherwise, perhaps DIY remove, sand, paint with touch-up spray, followed by light sand and paint with clearcoat.
