Well, I saw it. survived it. Realized at the last min I left the good camera in the truck. :( surely others have some pictures. Saw Venus and Jupiter. Felt a little small.

As long as Uranus was hidden from view, it's all good.

Saw the total eclipse in 2017 in Western NC at my folks house and saw it at 83% today in North Ga at my cabin. The experience is over-rated as far as I’m concerned. That being said, I do hope to see the next one in 20 years, when i’ll be 80. ?

only got a glimpse of totality but being on the edge of totality was trippy.

got dark way fast once it started
looking north was eerily different than looking south

it was a very fast change here in temp and intensity of the sun. i was in a crowd of a few hundred people and at one point when it was around 50 % of sun coverage the crowd all said wow oh ohh etc. out loud as it instantly seemed to go from warm humid to late evening cool. then darker and darker till it was night. the moon in front of the blazing sun was unreal. like a sci fi movie. a few folks got bent out of shape and ran inside lol. but it went back to day light real fast. maybe a matter of 4 minutes and it was like nothing happened.

We were in the center of the track but heavy cloud cover moved in after lunch and didn't see a thing. Got black for about 3 minutes. As it started getting dark birds were screaming and a flock of migrating geese landed in the farmers field across the street from us. Then it became quiet. As it lightened up the birds started squawking and the geese took flight. Wasn't worth sacrificing my afternoon nap for it in the end ??.

Cleveland area with totality of almost 4 minutes.
Dusk to dawn lights came on but wasn't really dark. More like dusk. Temp did cool down. Erie, weird shadows before and after totality. What was amazing is how quickly it went dark and then light again with just a sliver of the sun showing.
Of course we had cheers around the neighborhood and fireworks going off. Been there, done that, what's next?

I didn't have to go anywhere, just stepped out onto my front lawn. It was a cooler site to see than I thought it would be. One second, there is only a tiny dot of sun peaking by with the welding helmet and you couldn't look at it with the naked eye, then the next second, it looked like something out of a SyFy scene with your naked eye. I did get a few pictures with my phone.
