Kind of disappointed in the poll list. 466 isn't a prime number, so... :(

Just round 466.6 teaspoons to 467 teaspoons and you are in prime naming nirvana. :)

If we want to get the most appropriate name, the answer is always 42.

None of the manufacturers officially used the term small block or big block.

Chevy first introduced the 265 in 1955 and the W block which was first to be refered to as a big block wasn't introduced until 1958. It was with the 348/409 W block that everyone started using small block/big block.

Chrysler had the A block for the smaller displacements and the B block for larger displacements. They thinned out the casting of the A block to save weight and called it the LA and they raised the deck of the B block for larger displacements and called it RB. The term small block and big block was never an official designation.

Pontiac, Buick and Oldsmobile had only one basic block that had the same external dimensions for all displacements but the term small block and big block got applied to

Windsor was the small block, Cleveland is the big block 351. Had both..
Is A 351 Cleveland A Small Block Or Big Block?
Bellhousing bolt patterns such as the “Small Block” pattern are in use in the 351C. A large bellhousing bolt pattern referred to as the “Big Block” was used in the 351M/400.

If I am correct the Cleveland Engine Plant #2 in Brook Park is currently in the process of demolition. Is this the one on Snow Road near the airport?
Yep. That's the one. Property and a building was sold last year.

Just for you GM fanatics... The 4L60E is an interesting transmission, with sales in the millions. But just for the record, there are 6 different bell housings. What is with that? You'd needn't answer.

For the rest of us... If you're really into engine specs, look up the RPM acceleration rate of Ford engines, compared to the other makers. Start with the Yamaha V6 SHO, and make sure you look at the 5.2L Flat plane V8. The new Corvette comes close, but no cigar.

When I popped the hood in daylight for the first time an could see the build sticker; I told someone jokingly "heh, I have a Cleveland". Not sure if I will do it again, but it happened. Just didn't add the displacement to it.
Patrick, If you could, would you post a picture of your build tag? Or anyone else that has the Cleland tag. I was also under the assumption that the 2.3 was built in Spain. I live about 5 miles from Ford engine plant 1. My oldest brother worked there for about 25 years till he passed away.

Mel, Engine plant 2 is completely gone now, I drove past last week. The foundry has been gone for years.

It’s a 2.3 EcoBoost and I’m just fine with calling it that.

I'm sure this was covered, but the 351 Windsor and 351 Cleveland where small blocks.
The 351 M along with the 400 were basically the same block as the Cleveland, but with a taller deck height and used the bell housing mount for a big block.
