Hi Folks,
Okay...here is another backstory....
I managed Ford's Off Road racing for some 25 years. Ford SVO and the morphed Ford Racing tried to wrestle the control from me. They were unsuccessful even when my Truck Operations VP was going to bat for me with the CEO of Ford at the time...Red Polling agaist the director of Ford Racing who had the smirk on his face wiped off thanks to Mr Polling. Mr Polling saw the worth of our using Off Road Racing as a test bed for new products which we were doing on the stock truck classes.
So the battle of the Tee shirt began. I wanted tee shirts that said Ford Off Road Racing. Ford Racing put their foot down and said NFW... So I sat there thinking of how we could do this. So I asked if the back of the tee shirt was free and they said yes...okay.... Half way there. Then my secretary, who was part of my Off Road Racing Ford team suggested a slight change to the Ford Racing Tee Shirt. And so we did it! Ford Racing was so pissed but nothing they could do....

And yes....these shirts are coveted today as they are no more...
Oh well....my team wore them proudly....
