my experience is lacking with palm trees....but my experience with trees in general that bear nuts or fruits, sometimes large ones... and especially trees that lean, is to never park close to them.
You have trees in Canada that grow Bear Nuts ???:giggle:

Coco palms are pretty resilient. When Hurricane Iniki hit this island in '92, they were about the only thing still standing. I'm 250 lbs, and have been at the top of that tree to trim it (once...JUST once!), and it supported my fat ass.

This one is in my backyard. We keep our distance from each other, and we get along just fine. The ladder belongs to my neighbor, and honestly, I think it's safer to just climb the tree. At least you have something to hold onto when it starts swaying.
