I cannot find any wiring diagrams for this truck. Maybe someone can tell me where to find a ‘true negative ground’ point or wire near the tail lights. Trying to add some nice LED REAR LIGHTS but they only have ONE GROUND - neg wire for BRAKE and TURN SIGNAL. I have tried using the ‘ground/negative wire on the BRAKE LIGHT but it won’t let me use the TURN SIGNAL FUNCTION of this new light bar. Just for ‘fun’ I ran a piece of wire to the BATTERY NEG TERMINAL and BOTH BRAKE and TURN LED LIGHTS worked.
I do not want to put a ‘dedicated NEG WIRE’ from the battery to the back of the truck to permanently solve this problem. So now that I know what will solve the problem I am hoping some of you could help me find an ‘existing ground wire’.
I did try to just attach a wire to an existing screw underneath but that did not work.
That could have been the wrong screw as it was to the truck-bed, not the truck-frame.
Thank you

Hi Marty,

Do you have a trailer tow harness? If so, you have a good ground there. Any part of the frame is a good ground as well and a small hole drilled into the frame with a self tapping screw would likely work...

Good Luck,
Phil

No towing harness as that would make it too easy. Ha ha
I will try to do as you suggested.
