Hey, still on the fence so have not pulled the trigger on icon or OME yet.
Interested to hear what the ride quality is like after you instal the 121 OME springs.
Thanks the tent is usually on spring, summer and fall. The truck is primarily an overland rig not a mall crawler so we typically try to get out and explore every weekend or opportunity our careers allow.
Hey there fellow Tremor owners,
noticing about a 1" sag in the rear with all my overlanding gear (e.g. tent, slides, fridge, dual battery, awnings, camping gear, recovery gear, solar etc.) loaded on the back. Anyone tackle a solution for same , such as upgrading rear springs, lift blocks etc...
Decrease in travel but livable if on a budget. I also found a stiffer ride experience with the spacer. Google the subject and you will see more. Here is a good writtup if you are on the fence. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1503-coil-spacers-vs-new-springs-the-need-to-knows-before-you-lift/
Hey there, I got the extended version as it was the only one I could find given the huge backlog here for KIng Shocks, or any 2.5s for that matter. Model specifically is :
25001-386A-EXT the stock spring rate is 600
Here my camping setup. Just finished it in late Fall and managed to get a weekend in before temperatures dropped below freezing. Looking forward to the Spring....
The thing about Kings are you can order with three different spring rates and most big shops who install can actually valve the shocks based on prefered driving . I have a straight stock set( although extended version) and I find they are soft compared to the factory fox 2.0s my tremor came...
Essentially , the spacer sits on top of your coil over increasing lift impacting extension geometry of the shock. Up to 2" spacer has been generally observed as not impacting stock ride too much (some say stiffer). Aftermarket coil-over shocks replace your existing and come adjustable up to 3"...
I haven’t obser
Definately a noticeable improvement over 2.0s. I read Kings are more stiff also but the ride is less harsh onroad than the factory 2.0s.
I have not noticed any noise from the shocks on-road. Have not tried them off-road yet.
Racks working out well .
I have the Ranger mid height it is perfect for a RTT -reducing wind drag. The rack would work on any truck it’s the width of the cross bars that would determine it.
Needed another inch up front for some rough overlanding on my 285s. Rather than swap out the spacer for a 2" decided to up the perfromance and added King Extended adjustable Coil-overs. Quite happy now, makes potholes feel like pebbles.
The truck is now perfectly level with no mods to the back...
I think 285s will fit the stock suspension provided a new wheel offset and crash bars replaced or modified. Mine is a +25 offset but I do have a 1" spacer.
I broke the left side tab as well when yanking the gril and not realising there was a tab there . Gorilla glued it back to its spot and it seems to be holding well
