I regularly tow my 4k boat/trailer with my ranger without trailer brakes. Does well, except fuel economy. I am planning on adding brakes. Trailer wasnt original to boat but does have brake axles installed

Just traded in the wifes 2018 Ford Eacape S ( base model) for 16k that we got at the end of 2020(for 16500) put on 30k miles. Got a used Toyota Highlander as we needed the space for our family.

I got about 12.7 mpg towing a 6x12 well built utility trailer on a 900 mile round trip to Oklahoma City from Little Rock AR. It had about 500 lbs in addition to trailer. I was lucky to get 200 miles before I had to fill up
