Does anyone have a 90" × 50" tent on? I want the superlight from Go Fast Campers but I don't know if the shark fin will be a problem. I can't find a kit to get rid of it or move it.
32" -34". Each manufacturer has a 33" tire that is a slightly different size. I may not be chaging the ring gear size. The issue is the stock gear is welded to the diff. When I switch to the ARB I will need a new ring gear to put on the locking diff.
Rotational mass kills performance and fuel economy. If you add a really heavy tire and wheel you don't just have to turn it but keep it turning. Rotational mass has a factor it is multiplied by. Where as non rotating weight is just the weight that is added.
Just got off the phone with ARB USA and their notes state to use a ring gear from a Jeep JK with the matching Dana M220 axel. They not not have anything in their notes about the front and stated they do not know but would imagine it woild be a strait forward install using the stock ring and...
The rear axel is a dana m220 or m200. The m220 comes in the jeep gladiator so I am sure if you get ahold of a ring and pinon provider they can make something work. I am looking to lock my rear at least and the Australian market rangers have been locked for years. I am sure it is doable.
The reason I want to regear is to install an ARB air locker. Apparently the e locker from the factory is not able to be installed aftermarket and the stock ring gear is welded to the stock diff.
This is a good point and the snorkel gives an open path strait into the air box. The stock box is contained inside of the engine bay and that would take more to get into the air box in that case.
