This is common on most direct injection engines which is about 95% of what's on the road. The Ranger group is pretty vocal, so you just happened to hear about here first. Here are 3 videos to watch that will probably make you feel better.
This guy is very knowledgeable but talks a lot. He...
Maintenance is the key, big surprise.
The fact that you will be putting on a lot of HiWay miles is a real plus.
Change your oil every 5 or 6 thousand miles, use Ford Oil Filters., not Fram.

Don't bog your engine down if you can help it. In winter keep short trips of only a mile or so to a miminum. Use the turbo...
I haven't read all the posts, in the beginning most people dodged the answer but here are my thoughts.
I was also hesitant about the eco boost engine with a turbo. I bought 2019 Lariat because there weren't many to choose from at the time. Why did I buy this vehicle if I had any doubts, good...
Im no mechanic for sure. My thinking was, the fact that it is burning so clean the turbo fins are probably cleaner and hopefully the blowby is not very sooty which would also help.
I just use standard 87 octane regular. My tail pipe use to be somewhat sooty or black chalk like. I don't hot rod my truck much (just once in a wile), but it steps out when I ask it to. Due to the turbo, I called Lucas and asked them about using it in the Ranger. They said no problem, won't...
Like many of you I am concerned about soot building up in the engine, mostly on the back of the valves, pistons etc. I may have a solution that I think is working for me and its simple. My tail pipe use to be somewhat sooty or black chalk like. I used Lucas upper cylinder lubricant and...
I have had my Lariat for about 2 years except for the dam shudder at take of that ford can't seem to fix, it's great. The engine and transmission is a perfect match, they were made for each other.
I was you about 2 years ago. Bought a Ranger Lariat, no regrets. The fact that you will be driving mostly hi way miles is also a plus. Here are some videos to watch so you get more than just my opinion.

I have a 2019 Ranger Lariat that I really like. Only one problem, I have that low speed vibration in the drive train that is gone by the time I reach 20mph. A Ford dealership about 40 miles away let me down and just wrote the problem off as unimportant/normal. Poor excuse in my book. In...
I had the some worry, but not anymore, got better over time. I also use Mobile 1 - 5/30 full synthetic very good oil.

The only way I found to get an accurate oil check was to park it in the garage after the last trip at night, pull the dipstick and leave it out all night and...
Come on FORD this shouldn't be so hard to correct. A Ford dealer in Green Valley AZ says this concern is considered a normal characteristic. Sorry I don't buy that excuse.
Hi Phil,
I am asking for your help. My 2019 Ranger has the shudder at take off and vibration at 65mph or there abouts. Jim Click has a dealership in Green Valley, near you. Would you be willing to meet me there to explain to them what they need to know to fix them. The dealer in my area...
Lariat 2 wheel drive with soft bedcover, 4,300 feet elevation, 36psi tires and flames on the doors. Don't kid yourself, those flames make it burn cleaner. That and the Wounded Warrior blanket covering the back seat.
