Main thing is to go ahead and remove the axle nut so that you don't run into allowing the cv axle to disconnect as you move everything around to get the new unit in place. I performed the switch on the front passenger side first and did not remove the axle nut. The cv axle disconnected and was...
My understanding is that if you leave the shock on its factory setting it is a very minimal difference if any at all. They are advertised as 0” to 2.75” of adjustment. I adjusted mine to the 3rd slot. I’m not towing anything super heavy and wanted to get rid of most of the rake.
This has yet to be personal experience for me with this kit but in addition to the better on road behavior the aftermarket kit adds improvement to off-road handling. I wouldn’t have done the upgrade if this was not the case. For the FX4 my feeling is that Ford chose to go for exclusively a...
Because I hadn’t done anything like this on the ranger before it wasn’t a breeze for me. Glad I did it myself, but wasn’t easy and I learned a ton of “what not to do”. For someone who has done this a lot on other vehicles I’m sure they would have a much easier time than I did. It was much...
Used a hydraulic lift and air tools or would not have attempted. Not saying it can’t be done without; I just would have paid for install if I didn’t have the lift.
I can’t speak to the Eibach but for the Bilstein kit it is stiffer. Can’t speak to off-road characteristics yet. The trade off is the floating issues are gone. The truck feels more connected to the road and predictable. The twisting motion and prolonged rocking is also gone. It is a...
For me it was a good price point and does have the option for a lift. Specs show .8” lift to 2.75” lift. I put it on 1.2” lift and it’s perfect for me.
I haven’t seen a thread for these yet so wanted to start one and offer my experience with the kit. If there is another thread please let me know.
Bought this kit from Stage3 #19RNGR4WD a few weeks back. Arrived about 4 days apart from one another. Rear shocks first then front struts. I...
No stupid questions! I did check that and it was set properly. Amazing how many times turning something off and on again or making sure it’s plugged in saves hundreds on a service call. Appreciate the question!
