Great info....but there is another make or break decision. If you plan to flat tow this vehicle behind a RV you need 4 x 4 so you get a transfer case that disconnects the front and back wheels from the transmission. Correct me if I am wrong but I do not believe the 2 x 4 can be flat towed for...
I found the same instructions in the 2019 Ranger manual....It does look like it will work 4 down behind our diesel pusher (currently we tow a 2005 Honda CR-V which works great (4 x 4 only)). Hopefully a base plate will be coming out soon. My plan is to eventually replace the CR-V with a 4 x 4...
So far the Ranger is checking all the boxes in terms of our needs. Including good gas mileage, flat towable 4 wheels down behind our diesel motorhome, plenty of power with the 2.3 engine/10 speed trans. Most components seem proven in other vehicles like the 2.3 in the Mustang, 10 speed trans...
So....would these numbers be about right.... 1 MPG down when in 2WD in the 4x4 Ranger....which would account for the extra weight and some minor parasitic drag. Anyone know off hand if this ratio holds true for the 2.7 F150 2WD vs 4x4 trucks. given that there are 10 gears wonder if the Ranger...
I entered a bunch of the VINs provided on an Excel sheet somewhere here and Ford said the Window Sticker was not yet ready and come back later. Hoping to find the mileage of a 4x4 as that is the only Ranger that can be flat towed with 4 wheels down like our Honda CR-V. the Ford F150 4x4 also...
