  1. GG Light Bar Install

Thank you. I’ll keep an eye on the other wires as I go thru.
  2. GG Light Bar Install

Nice job! May I ask where the firewall access is? I have to run a main power line thru and also going to wire a set of these (or similar) lights up. Thanks.
  3. Lariat screen locked up?

My 2019 Lariat screen locks up a lot. It will freeze for a short while then resume after a bit. Also, if I start the vehicle and place it immediately in reverse, it will often take about five seconds for the review camera to be visible. Just figure it’s another Ford glitch, much like the...
  4. Anyone mount an Ham Radio antenna on the bed ot the truck?

Out of curiosity, where did you enter the cab with the coax?
  5. Anyone mount an Ham Radio antenna on the bed ot the truck?

Why not not drill the roof of the cab if you can clear your garage (or buy folding antennas)? Nobody really sees up there and when you go to sell it, just cap the holes. Impact on resale will be near zero. Best ground plane on the vehicle. I had no problem drilling three 3/4” NMO holes on my...
  6. Never Run Extended Oil Change Intervals: Ecoboost Engines

As many military vehicles do, I often rely more on running time than miles for service (I install hour meters in my Jeeps). Like several of you, my Ranger has only seen limited use; 5,000 miles added since I bought it 3-1/2 years ago. So oil changes are generally governed more by the calendar...
  7. The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor Is Bonkers!

If that is the case, and considering a fully loaded 2024 Lariat (without the Tremor package) is likely to push $50,000, the asking price of $56,000 might not be that unreasonable (sans dealer markups).
  8. The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor Is Bonkers!

Cool truck, but what does your $56k get you? I didn’t hear that much about standard vs optional equipment. In other words, what does a fairly loaded Ranger Raptor cost and what exactly is a “loaded” Raptor? The best seats, the best entertainment system, the best ?????
  9. Will you be upgrading to a 6G? Why or why not?

For several reasons, I have no interest in the 6G and will keep my 2019 Ranger Lariat (Sport) for the foreseeable future. Like Dgc333, I bought a Ranger because there was no Dodge replacement for my outgoing Dakota available at the time, otherwise I would have gone that direction. By luck, I...
  10. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Covid or Politics!]

***ORDER STATUS*** Thank you for your order from our sex shop. You requested the large red dildo hanging next to our front counter. Unfortunately, we had to cancel your order and we respectfully request that you revisit our website and try again. The item you specified is our fire extinguisher.
  11. Why did you pick the Ranger over the Tacoma?

Happy New Year everyone! Over the years, I have owned over 50 vehicles. Not one has been “foreign,” although the definition of a foreign vehicle these days is very murky. Nevertheless, I prefer to stick with the “Big Three.” My very first vehicle at age 14 was a surplus 1953 M38A1 (military...
  12. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Covid or Politics!]

Since this is a motor vehicle forum, I thought I would mention that the high school I attended in Wisconsin was so small, we had drivers-ed and sex-ed in the same car. However, since COVID started, I’ve heard that the school has switched to Suburbans so the kids can spread out.

  14. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Covid or Politics!]

Jack & Jill went up the hill, each with a buck and a quarter. Jill came down with two-and-a-half, they didn’t go up for water!
  15. How about some Jokes [Admin: No Covid or Politics!]

Speaking of funerals, when I was younger, every time I would go to a wedding, the elders would poke me and say “You’re next.” Now when I go to funerals and see the elders, I poke them and say, “You’re next.”
  16. Are deer whistles worth a damn?

One of our patrol deputies installed them on his squad. Promptly hit a deer the next day. Personally, I think the deer were waiting for him. ?
  17. HAM Radio Intalled

In my area, there are two radio shops. One is Motorola and the other an independent, but they both charge about $85 per hour shop time. Any reputable shop should be able to do this in two hours or less. Plus the cost of cables and antennas (unless you supply, which I would recommend).
  18. HAM Radio Intalled

Lots of great ideas here. Just started mounting radios and lights this week and looking for a place to mount a (somewhat) heavy Motorola microphone. Might try that vent mount. It seems that a lot of folks are adverse to drilling antenna holes into their vehicle. Generally, I get that. Not...
