Went back down to Canyonlands/Arches NPs. This time we did the Shaffer Trail/Potash Rd. Total we did 73 miles off road; more impressed with this trucks capability everyday. Towed the camper down comfortably, hit some trails, and towed back with zero issues.
Update on my rubbing; I found the culprit. So the issue wasn't the diameter of the tire (still haven't rubbed on or removed the crash bars) but my offset. Since I'm on stock wheels (low offset), I am rubbing on the frame (about where the oil filter is, but on both sides) at full lock.
Since...
Hard to say, as it would just move the rubbing further out on the crash bars. Not sure if a spacer is the best remedy, but it might be enough. I have taken the plastic off the bars, but I haven't tried to finagle them out of their stock position.
Top picture is right after I got the K02s mounted, bottom is Gemini Bridges in Moab.
A little disclaimer - I did rub a bit on the crash bar other day pulling into a parking spot quickly. But it hasn't happened since, and it doesn't happen during normal daily driving. Only at full lock do i...
I've had a few questions since I posted in the off-road pic thread so here's my setup.
I'm running BFG K02 275/70/18s (~33") on stock rims with the Bilstein 5100s on the highest setting. They are suuuuuper tight but so far no rubbing even after some mild off roading in Moab.
Here is how far I...
I think we crossed paths at Canyonlands!
Here are my Moab pics, did Gemini Bridges back from Canyonlands to Arches.
Took a bunch of other pics, but these are by far the prettiest.
No rubbing that I have noticed so far. On level ground and daily driving there is no rubbing, but I'm sure at full compression and full lock there may be some. No spacers, but the tire is really close to the top of the knuckle, maybe a half inch or so of clearance. I'm definitely considering...
Tried to make it to the top of Logan Peak today, but the trail I followed ended unexpectedly. Still got some decent pics. Upgraded to the Bilstein 5100s and BFG K02s (275/70/18) since the last time I posted, loving the way they improve the ride, on and offroad.
The handles and fender vent outlines are just artifacts of the way I drew everything. It was definitely quick and dirty, but I think it gets the point across. I'd definitely be curious to see what it looks like IRL, but I don't think I'm brave enough to do it to mine!
I got bored and did a render on my truck. I don't think it looks too shabby with the Lightning Blue either. Definitely agree on the pinstripe around it though, I think it really adds the retro flare.
